They advertise on Facebook as Young Vibes, Your Child Freedom Formula, Peaky Parents, Anxiety, Our Formula, and various other names.

They use a 'high ticket' sales technique, where they offer a webinar and then urge you to book a call. The call is a high-pressure sales call.

They have changed their name quite a few times over the last year, after they were investigated by the Advertising Standards agency - www.asa.org.uk/rulings/tomwill--holdings--ltd-g21-1116080-tomwill--holdings--ltd.html, and they were featured in a BBC radio 4 documentary www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000zt9y

There are a few threads on the child mental health boards - here's one. www.mumsnet.com/talk/child_adolescent_mental_health/4239684-your-child-freedom-formula-has-anyone-tried-it?page=1

On the threads there are people from 'both sides', including some who have been through the program, so it's well worth having a read if you are thinking of making the call.

I think the issue here was not that it "offends the grown ups" it is whether is is safe or causing more harm, even if unintentional

Wait a minute. Just an hour and half ago you posted that you were quite comfortable with emailing parents encouraging them to try out your ‘incredible formula’ by citing the tragic suicide of a child of someone who by implication didn’t use your services.

If that isn’t using high pressure sales tactics I don’t know what is.

TeenDivided · 06/06/2023 16:26

@SamanthaRobinsYoungVibes Bump for the evening, looking forward to the source of the 50% statistic.

TeenDivided · 06/06/2023 16:34

Quick google, NHS Scotland: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/mental-health/anxiety-disorders-in-children
says In the UK, anxiety disorders are estimated to affect 5-19% of all children and adolescents, and about 2-5% of children younger than 12.

So not 50% or anywhere near.

ParsnipPie · 06/06/2023 16:57

Ok, I have a question.
Why do you keep changing your business’s name?
Do you have something to hide?

WaitingForSunnyDays · 06/06/2023 17:38

My question: please point me to a peer reviewed source that agrees with you that anxiety is physiological not psychological.

nothingcomestonothing · 06/06/2023 17:57

You are either well meaning but clueless or some kind of MLM bot. Either way, you shouldn't be working with vulnerable children.

And if you are working with adopted children, you are breaking the law. Which you would know, if you knew what you were doing.

It's definitely not an MLM.

it still seems to me that if it had been initially sold (at a sensible price) as a parent support group kind of thing then it wouldn't be nearly such as issue. Having access to support on a daily or so basis rather than just say fortnightly could be incredibly helpful to parents caught up with their child's anxiety.

But the initial outrageous claims, sales techniques and price, combined with the combative response to any negative reviews to me undermine credibility going forward.

8b) As 'professionals' you shouldn't be quoting random statistics without knowing the source. Surely you realise that?

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 06/06/2023 19:08

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 06/06/2023 07:44

What do you mean when you say anxiety is physiological not psychological?

Isn't it a MH disorder with physiological symptoms? Eg racing heart, sweaty palms, shitting yourself when you push yourself too far (maybe that's just me)

@SamanthaRobinsYoungVibes could you answer this please.

  1. I don't understand this comment. Please explain?

Surely it is more a point that you were claiming untruths (success guaranteed), charging very high amounts up front (In the thousands), and using high pressure sales tactics.

I don't feel as if that is 'appearing' guilty and deceitful so much as 'being'?

You may not have meant to. Being generous, you may have been over optimistic in your 'formula' (which I am sure works for some) and a bit over greedy in your charging, and a failure of oversight of your sales team. But those are all your responsibility as the business owner, surely.

You have offered to answer questions here, I don't want to run the risk of a high pressure call. I and I'm sure others are finding your answers here very informative.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 06/06/2023 19:19

I don't have time to join you for a free week. You offered to answer questions. Telling me too join your club isn't answering my question.

All the HCPs I know (including MH nurses, clinical psychologists, counsellors and therapists) consider it a MH condition.

FWIW I'm an ex MH support worker who is no longer able to work due to mh issues including anxiety. And parent to a child who isn't isn't school due to anxiety and ebsa.

@SamanthaRobinsYoungVibes
My questions really was in relation to the autism, if you don't think anxiety in autistic children can't be treated in the same way WHY do you take on autistic children? And you did this with the attitude that autism doesn't exist, which you are now saying it does!

Having the programme "for life" will not help us because of this, the experience effected our child negatively because it "cannot be treated in the same way as other anxiety" in an autistic person.

I have always said the programme would work for some, as everything does. But you took us on, and our money, with the full knowledge of our childs diagnosis.

ParsnipPie · 06/06/2023 19:33

How many reincarnations has your business had?
I can think of Young Vibes, Your Child Freedom Formula, Peaky Parents, Kactus Kids, Satsie Thomas.
Are there others?
And why all the rebranding?

3xteens · 06/06/2023 19:43

Having been part of the programme in the past I have no wish to join in again. But I would like your answer/opinion to last post @SamanthaRobinsYoungVibes please as I haven't had one yet.

You have said you work with adopted children. If that is true, you are breaking the law. Would you care to comment on that?

It doesn’t have to cost much at all. I am co-director and founder of two support organisations which offer support and resources which are FREE to parents, as we have lived experience of having children with a mental health issue/s and understand how vulnerable they are. It’s sickening to hear about & read the ruthless marketing tactics you actually are still employing to get parents in this situation to sign up and pay you
