They advertise on Facebook as Young Vibes, Your Child Freedom Formula, Peaky Parents, Anxiety, Our Formula, and various other names.

They use a 'high ticket' sales technique, where they offer a webinar and then urge you to book a call. The call is a high-pressure sales call.

They have changed their name quite a few times over the last year, after they were investigated by the Advertising Standards agency - www.asa.org.uk/rulings/tomwill--holdings--ltd-g21-1116080-tomwill--holdings--ltd.html, and they were featured in a BBC radio 4 documentary www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000zt9y

There are a few threads on the child mental health boards - here's one. www.mumsnet.com/talk/child_adolescent_mental_health/4239684-your-child-freedom-formula-has-anyone-tried-it?page=1

On the threads there are people from 'both sides', including some who have been through the program, so it's well worth having a read if you are thinking of making the call.

Yes I’ve seen the Facebook pages with different names. I commented a while back that I had my suspicions about the page and I was blocked from commenting. I’ve just seen another with a different name and commented there too so I expect I’ll get blocked from that too soon! It’s so disheartening to see these kind of people taking advantage of parents who are at their wits end with worry. Unfortunately there’s no quick or easy way to help your child, and that’s what made me suspicious was the way they spoke about it and the fact that they wanted a lot of money for it. It’s so awful and they should be ashamed of themselves x

Another FB page of theirs ...

What?! They’re back to Young Vibes again? I never get any adverts. Bit offended really. Btw, I’ve name changed again. Not a new poster.

Hols12345 · 23/09/2022 06:27

In the first video on this page Sam claims that anxiety prevents puberty and that they have treated sets of twins where one twin goes through puberty whilst the other doesnt.

Their website also says they are under new management.

Gad 7 is a general anxiety test with 7 questions. It is available free online. It doesn't really tell you that much but can support the idea that an adult is feeling anxious. It isn't a Routine outcome measure for children.

There is a good Facebook page called Not Fine in School which shares information about accessing support for ND and anxiety and attendance difficulties, if anyone is interested in getting help for their child's MH. Or Charlie Waller Foundation or Anna Freud Centre, as recommended up thread.

What worries me is this isn't like something which is neutral.
Intervention like this based on incorrect understanding (to put it nicely) could be positively harmful for a child and their family.

TeenDivided · 23/09/2022 06:53

I wonder if they can point at peer reviewed published studies which show that anxiety delays puberty? It's one hell of a claim to make.

Their incorrect understanding of autism and living with an autistic child didn't affect our child but did affect me. Feeling 'put down' as a parent actually pushed me to the brink of being depressed and that was scarey. I had to take myself away from the programme and actually feel anxious if I listen to Sam's voice now!

That is a very scary claim isn't it @TeenDivided . Wonder who the new management is? Someone close to them letting them continue with it as they always have probably.

TeenDivided · 23/09/2022 07:28

I bet it isn't really 'new' management. They'll have added someone in, or given the dog a role as CEO or something. There certainly hasn't been a new change of approach with the new management has there?

Not fine in School is a great recommendation CountTessa, thanks

She doesn't half ramble! Get to the point! Oh, she never did get to the point!

What does she think a mental health condition is? I think she's is saying that anxiety is not a mental health condition, it is just the over production of adrenalin, rather than that being a symptom. This is a possibility, overactive adrenal glands can lead to anxiety but if that is the case, talking therapy or her programme is not going to help! You need medication or even surgery! Who is this woman and what are her qualifications?

In another video she says that an ASD diagnosis cannot be removed, you've got it forever even if you no longer fit the criteria. This is not true. I know of two people who have had a diagnosis removed.

BrilliantGreenFlamingo · 23/09/2022 14:59

New management! Probably trying to get away from their reputation.

m.facebook.com/Youngvibesuk/videos/autism-and-adhd-explained-in-this-video/2382913135184894/?_rdr

In this video Sam says Autism is a mental health condition she doesn't know much about but knows that kids with Autism like to be in a routine and don't like surprises.

ADHD is the same as feeling nervous before giving a speech.

Whilst they won't treat children who are at special schools, they have "done" many who have been diagnosed with ASD and it's turned out it was actually anxiety and they have gone back to normal after going through the Young Vibes program.

I'm blocked from commenting on FB and don't seem to be able to report as misinformation either.

Oh wow, that video seems to have gone already? Can anyone access it via the link? m.facebook.com/Youngvibesuk/videos/autism-and-adhd-explained-in-this-video/2382913135184894/?_rdr

I took screenshots of the transcript but I'm so confused how it's disappeared?

And there is a lot of research looking into physiological differences that occur in people diagnosed with autism now. Her lack of knowledge is scary as these children maybe the most vulnerable.

What, they’ve blocked you from even viewing their content?!

and she did say that autism doesn’t exist in one of her previous videos.

Sam: I find it quite odd how us on MN are kind of having a conversation with you via your responses online. I know your posts got deleted the first time you came on to respond. But it would be great if you could try again and answer some of the discrepancies in what you say.

MumofTeenGirls · 25/03/2023 08:29

I know this is an old thread, but I thought it might be worth a try to post here. I recently signed up with Young Vibes, and as I have researched their company more thoroughly, I’ve come across many concerning practices that have me questioning my trust in them. Does anyone have experience with the program that they would be willing to share?

TeenDivided · 25/03/2023 09:35

@MumofTeenGirls You need to pop over to Children's Mental Health, there's been a series of threads. The most recent one is https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/child_adolescent_mental_health/4484583-Young-Vibes-New-company-set-up-by-the-same-people-as-Your-Child-Freedom-Formula-and-Peaky-Parents

Broadly the warning is be very cautious.

BruisedSkies · 25/03/2023 16:09

Yes, mumofteens there’s a few parents who have also not had a good experience of them either. Check out the link that teen has shown. Plus there’s also staff who are not happy either.

Have you started having any sessions with them? If you read the threads you can then see what you think.

3xteens · 25/03/2023 19:23

@MumofTeenGirls I am a parent who was on this programme. I agree, you should look at the link given above. As I've mentioned on it I think the programme can work for SOME but not everyone, especially if you have other diagnosis alongside the anxiety.

MumofTeenGirls · 27/03/2023 13:59

Thank you for the link—somehow I only came across the two older threads which raise some serious red flags. We haven’t had any sessions yet, but everyone I’ve dealt with thus far seems so genuine and caring, but the ideas shared in the conversations and videos are very repetitive without a lot of substance. I’m just worried the programme isn’t much more than a support group with tips I can find in a self-help book. It’s only 900£, but that’s still a lot more expensive than a few books and finding a supportive group online.
I’m not sure my DD even has the type of “anxiety” they describe. She’s had no trauma, and we have a calm, happy household. She has been highly sensitive since birth. She functions well day-to-day (mostly) and is an excellent student and well-behaved at school. My concerns are she is very shy, lacks self-confidence, can be manipulative/controlling, quick to anger, overwhelmed easily, and can be confrontational. I worry about it getting worse down the road as we enter the later teen years and worried it might develop into eating disorders and social issues.
Thank you all for helping a mum out. I will head over to the most recent thread and join the conversation.

Ooh. Like an Ask me Anything? Super.

What qualifications do you actually have?
