I don't know how I'm going to manage another week of this. It's too much. I'm stuck indoors on the cool side of my house and the temperature inside is still 30C. Anyone else hate the heat?

Nooo! Ice and snow and never seeing the house in daylight for months on end?

You say that like it's a bad thing? 😁

TheLostNights · 12/07/2022 11:34

Going by the weather forecast , looks like we should be more worried about the extreme heat on Monday rather than Sunday.
This. Is. Hell.

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2022 11:35

It has just started raining here in Worcestershire. Grin

colouringindoors · 12/07/2022 16:53

I've had a splitting headache all day. Def not dehydrated, but painkillers not touching it. Heat I guess. Looked at bbc weather- they're forecasting heatwave until endvof next week, with Monday being the hottest. It's going to be a long fortnight...

LadyWhistledownsPen · 12/07/2022 16:55

You're not alone I hate it too. I cannot cope with being hot and sticky all the time.

I don't think that's the right link? It goes to the orders page.

sorry, this is the link

Anyone used "cooling cloths" like these? I have to do some gardening work for a few days over the next fortnight and I'm actually quite concerned as to how I'll manage.

I hate it so much that I’ve booked an air conditioned Air bnb for three nights starting Sunday!

my tips:
portable air conditioner
Dog cooling pads (put in fridge for extra coolness)
cooling gel pads (in freezer)
bowl of iced water for your feet
Water sprays in fridge (cheaper that Magicool and better because you can use as much as you like)
Windows open until the air outside becomes hotter than inside, then close until it’s cooler outside than in
Ready microwave meals - don’t put oven or kettle on.
Dogs have cooling jackets and I walk them with a water spray in my hand
Wet your hair before bed

Hate hot weather. Worse summer when I was pregnant then labour with twins in a heatwave 😭. Bring on the Autumn...

TheLostNights · 13/07/2022 16:12

Keeps jumping a day forward as now looks like Tuesday will be the worst of the heat. I'm honestly counting down the days till this ends. Last night in particular was horrific. Practically melting onto my bed, was so disgusting.

A whole week away 🥵🥵🥵

the80sweregreat · 13/07/2022 17:12

Its only a week until state school kids break up
Then it'll rain

Somethingsnappy · 14/07/2022 10:29

Today and yesterday has been OK though, hasn't it? Not too hot, not humid and a nice breeze and cooler nights. The weekend will be hot but not horrific. So we just have to get through Monday and Tuesday. We'll get there! I don't hate it so much if there is an end in sight.

Where are you? London was as sticky and humid as ever yesterday and overnight. Today is marginally better, but still bloody awful.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 14/07/2022 11:31

Im getting very worried about the water situation as well.

TheLostNights · 14/07/2022 12:32

I'm in London. The humidity was horrendous last night and the one before. Was meant to be cooler yesterday but still stifling at 27C.
I could actually cry when I look at Monday/ Tuesday forecast. I actually think we will hit 40C. Absolutely dreading it and even the next few days after that are still too hot. Just want this to end, feels relentless.

colouringindoors · 14/07/2022 18:09

Some models are now showing high 20s even after next Tuesday's spike 😪Seriously not funny now. I'm fortunate at the moment I only work til 2.30 and have literally been sleeping for a couple of hours in the pm to get through the hottest hours. Getting stuff done after 8 when it's actually cooler.

TheLostNights · 14/07/2022 19:23

I saw that as well @colouringindoors . Even today at 25C has been difficult, days more of much worse heat is so depressing.
From what I can see though, as soon as the kids break up from school, it looks to be cooler but then it keeps changing so who knows....

Oh no, poor you. I'm in Warwickshire, and it's been about 22°C today, and 23/24 yesterday. A dry kind of heat with a breeze, and much cooler at night. I'm trying to make the most of it, with a sense of dread hanging over me for next Monday and Tuesday.
