Why is it that the gussets are so tiny that you've always got a flap hanging out?

Why are most knickers I've come across like this?

I'd like something that covers my neatly trimmed lady garden without having to suffer a front wedgie.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’ve noticed this too. I bought some last week which claimed “no VPL”. They are designed with no elastic in the legs so I feel like I’m in danger of a double-wedgie. I think I’ll go back to good old M&S

Tabbouleh · 09/07/2022 11:22

Wirapa on Amazon. But they are v large and unsexy.

CheeryTulip · 09/07/2022 11:24

It's arse coverage I need. Knickers never cover the butt cheeks properly so you get 2/3rds covered & 1/3 hanging out...Hmm Looking at you M&S...

LizzieMacQueen · 09/07/2022 11:26

I know it's odd isn't it. I' ve the largest arse in my family but own the smallest knickers.

Harridance · 09/07/2022 11:26

I can't even be doing with thongs, why do people want a string up their arse rather than cover their cheeks?!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 09/07/2022 11:30

I have these, very comfortable:
www.freemans.com/products/elomi-cate-briefs/_/A-46R495_XL?PFM_rsn=browse&PFM_ref=false&PFM_psp=own&PFM_pge=1&PFM_lpn=48

They wash and wear really well, different colours available. Bit pricey but they last and last.

But polyester!

WendellGeez · 09/07/2022 11:34

Buy a larger size?

Svara · 09/07/2022 11:36

I wear sainsburys midis, the five pack and they are comfortable and cover everything. I wear a size up from my trousers size.

waveyourpompoms · 09/07/2022 11:38

I’ve never had this issue and I wear Brazilian knickers 🤷‍♀️

queenMab99 · 09/07/2022 11:38

M&S full coverage up to waist, down to thigh, pure cotton, in a size larger than you think you need😂

ComDummings · 09/07/2022 11:39

I like M&S full briefs (a.k.a massive pants) they cover your whole arse and the gusset isn’t the width of dental floss.

PrittStickier · 09/07/2022 11:41

yep I bought things from NEXT recently. One flap in, one out! Never happened before. Don’t go to Next!

Lol - "a flap hanging out" really made me chuckle out loud and made my son wonder what I was laughing at.

But I know exactly what you mean!

I got some midi knickers from Tesco which are nicely fitted.
However I bought some from primark and had that exact problem you describe!

Toughtips · 09/07/2022 11:43

I envy those that don't have this issue. Maybe I've got a wide vagina. 😅Ive got the right size. Any bigger they'd fall down. Im a size 12 but buy a 14 the 16s are too large and still aren't wide enough.

M+S have gone completely the other way, judging by the number of men complimenting their knickers in online reviews for “containing all of their junk”. 🤮

Jackanackanory · 09/07/2022 11:48

I recently bought a 4-pack of No VPL knickers from Morrisons for £6.50 and they’re fine. They don’t give full arse cheek coverage and they don’t have elastic (other than in the waist band) but they don’t give me a front or back wedgie.

This thread reminds me of a line from Motherland -“I’ve got a chubby vulva - it’s a hell of a hoof in a leotard” 😁

CakesOfVersailles · 09/07/2022 11:49

Try something like these: www.thunderpants.co.uk

They're cotton and come in different designs.

Their reviews are wild, I didn’t realise there was such a following of men who love women’s M&S clothes yikes

lugeforlife · 09/07/2022 11:51

I go M&S full brief no vpl multi pack in my normal size. Modal with a cotton gusset.

Lovely, flaps neatly contained and good buttock coverage. I kid myself that these look acceptable as well.

JudgeRindersMinder · 09/07/2022 11:54

I swear by these ones from M&S, probably not the sexiest but hoiking your knickers from your vadge is even less sexy 😂

Bonds were great for gusset width, but can no longer get them in UK (other than the poor quality childrens's versions). I wonder if you go down the sloggi or similar route if it would be any better? I definitely agree that gussets tend to be too narrow. I think it is cost cutting.

This^ I saw them recommended on here and they are great.

katseyes7 · 09/07/2022 11:57

I've never found this? I've worn thongs (low rise, garter) for over 20 years. I buy a size bigger than l actually am. Never had a problem with bits 'escaping'.
