Why is it that the gussets are so tiny that you've always got a flap hanging out?

Why are most knickers I've come across like this?

I'd like something that covers my neatly trimmed lady garden without having to suffer a front wedgie.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

They're either smaller sized in their body to begin with or are wanting more compression over their lower abdomen - they're very supportive to any loose skin/post baby overhang.

My problem is I like knickers like those in this link (great sale price!) BUT the old erm bum cheeks are not as pert as the model’s!

I’ve noticed this too. I bought some last week which claimed “no VPL”. They are designed with no elastic in the legs so I feel like I’m in danger of a double-wedgie. I think I’ll go back to good old M&S

I noticed that a lot of the M&S pants are now "no vpl" which has put me off buying; annoying as they used to be my go-to for good quality pants. I don't care about my sodding pl, I just want sturdy all-encompassing fabric thank you very much!

Whatwouldscullydo · 09/07/2022 13:21

Don't go for boody. They are soft akd comfortable yes. But they just fall down and they are so thin and light thet don't hold a pad properly

denbigh · 09/07/2022 13:59

Puffy pussy gyal here, 🤣🤣🤣M&S full briefs.. so unsexy but so comfy and cover everything..front and back..

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/07/2022 14:05

Primark, they're like M and S used to be.

KirstenBlest · 09/07/2022 14:11

No, they're not. They fall apart quickly. In my local primrak, you'll be hard pressed to find anything other than thongs in smaller sizes.

M&S full coverage up to waist, down to thigh, pure cotton, in a size larger than you think you need😂

Yes this. Also got some in Sainsbury that are almost identical. My knickers are huge and I love them!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/07/2022 14:19

Any tips for ones in pure cotton?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/07/2022 14:21

Maybe the M&S ones have changed but I had no luck with them. Not only was the gusset tiny but the fabric was so thin and the elastic so weak that I threw the whole pack away. This was a few years ago now though.

justbesensible · 09/07/2022 14:22

These look good!

ComDummings · 09/07/2022 11:39

I like M&S full briefs (a.k.a massive pants) they cover your whole arse and the gusset isn’t the width of dental floss.

Yes, they're really comfy. Working on replacing all my half-arse-coverage ones with these.

ShirleyJackson · 09/07/2022 14:25

Wirapa rub me a bit on the, ahem, groin. The elastic is a bit too sturdy.

My favourites are Ella and Me. Nice bright colours, plenty of coverage, matching vests, lovely.

Don’t get the stretch lace though. Sweaty foof alert.

Curiosity101 · 09/07/2022 14:25

I buy mine from anywhere but I always pick the same style.

Lace Brazilian shorts. I do find the current trend for high cut legs that sit really high on your hips are very uncomfortable. Lace shorts tend to sit at a nice height so no uncomfortable wedgie. The Brazilian part is optional as it tends to mean they're purposefully showing a bit of your bum.

Lace shorts are a great go to style though for comfort and looks.

TheVolturi · 09/07/2022 14:27

I got some no vpl shorts from primark, a pack of three was about £4 and they're really good. They are not cotton though, they're a stretchy lycra type material and like tiny hotpants but they're so comfy and keep everything in including my full buttocks!

Beanomatica · 09/07/2022 14:32

Another vote for Thunderpants here. Very comfy and incredibly sturdy in the gusset department. I luffs them.

INNERSY Underwear for Women Soft Cotton Knickers Ladies Mid Rise Briefs Basic Pants Multipack 6 amzn.eu/d/3V3Cne5

I just bought a pack of these after googling - although my issue was keeping my bum cheeks in rather than my flaps 😂 they are however extremely comfy proper fitting pants with a nice wide gusset. And although they do make high waisted ones these are ' normal' height. I'd highly recommend them!

MsOllie · 09/07/2022 14:37

The black pack seems to have vanished but these cover my bum and I'm a size 16

MistyRock · 09/07/2022 14:53

I wear M&S Boy shorts that come in a 5 pack. I think mine are modal mix fabric, soft and stretchy but not polyester crap. They have a wide cotton gusset, stitched at both ends! They fit a panty liner, which I often wear. They fit nicely. They don't fully cover my bum cheeks but I don't mind that. They look smooth under dresses etc.

Yodaisawally · 09/07/2022 16:18

Gussets have definitely got smaller! I bought a pack of my usual m and s knickers recently and couldn't sensibly use a sanitary towel with them.

I've just got some from next and sized up which are fab.

MardyBumHeadKnickerFairy · 09/07/2022 16:26

Yeah I had this, I spent years being enraged by the underwear on offer. Too skimpy, not stretchy enough, seams in the wrong places, gussets in the wrong places, too tight, too loose, up my arse, flossing my vaj... sometimes all in the same pair

So I started making my own instead Grin and my arse has never been happier!

whynotwhatknot · 09/07/2022 16:28

looks like i'll just have to guess a size and go for it
