So, she's asked several times to do it. Any recommendations as to what to use on her blonde/brown hair colour?

Any reasons I shouldn't do it? If it's an I judge reason I'm not bothered, more checking in if it's not worth it because it won't last/make a difference etc.

Since this thread is full of a lot of unnecessary shaming so I'm going to drop some actual helpful info. You should use a demi-permanent dye over her natural hair color. It will act as a tint and fade over time with washing. Or, if you need the color gone sooner it's easily dyed over. You can bleach it if she wants a more vibrant color, but if you want to go that route take her to an actual hairdresser. Bleach can be pretty unforgiving if done incorrectly. My favorite brand is Manic Panic because they have a large variety of colors and they smell delightful. I've also heard good things about arctic fox as a brand too.

As far as the slippery slope nonsense in a lot of these responses, I don't buy it. Dying hair is a fun way to encourage your child to discover themselves and reaffirm their identity. I don't understand why you all hate fun? This seems like a great bonding activity that she will remember every time she looks in the mirror.

You're a great mom, no judgment here. Have fun! Dye yours too!

I love all the judgy posts on here from a bunch of people who don't see children as autonomous individuals who have a right over thier own body. I especially love the ones about not dumping a crap tone of chemical on thier head from people who probally take thier kids ro McDonald's like three times a week. Anyhow if your daughter wants to do something to her body that is her decision and your responsibility to make sure she does it safely and is informed on all the risks. I would personally use Kool Aid as a first attempt as it will dye the hair and is relatively easy to wash out.
