I was wondering if he'd sway some anti strikers! I hope he actually turns out to be a good one.

antwacky · 23/06/2022 13:48

He knows what he is talking about and tells the truth so he shows these lying MPs who are being rolled out to promote the Toty propaganda up for what they really are.

Pedallleur · 23/06/2022 13:49

that would be Kay Burley who broke Covid rules by partying and was suspended for 6(?) months from work

Intheflicker · 23/06/2022 13:49

SofiaSoFar · 23/06/2022 13:45

Can't stand him.

You won't see much criticism on here - people daren't speak out if it's criticism of socialist actions - but the voting will soon tell you he's not unanimously supported even on such a left-biased site as this.

Are you new here?

Pippylongstock · 23/06/2022 13:49

I have to say I am a huge fan. He has been wiping the floor with the right-wing media/Tory MPs. The Kay Burley took the biscuit for the most ridiculous interview conducted.

Wouldloveanother · 23/06/2022 13:50

I think he’s fantastic. I’m tired of the emotional blackmail used to prevent the hard pressed public from defending their rights ‘what about people going to hospital appointments’ etc. It’s a Tory tactic to make an enemy of the people they are oppressing.

BluOcty · 23/06/2022 13:51

The journos came with such mad prejudice! He simply had to give them enough rope...

Moj1t0 · 23/06/2022 13:52

Agree, he comes across really well I think.

Those of you who found the Kay Burley interview ridiculous- have you see the Piers Morgan one??!! A whole new level of bizarre.

ClaudineClare · 23/06/2022 13:52

TullyApplebottom · 23/06/2022 13:47

I’ve only heard him on Today and he sounded like an absolutely typical 70s/80s trade union specimen. No one other than he and his members matters.
but I am old, old enough to remember when people like him had too much power and were bringing the country to its knees.

The country is on its knees right now. Nothing to do with the unions, everything to do with our corrupt and increasingly fascistic government.

That's not what the voting appears to be saying though?

Intheflicker · 23/06/2022 13:49

Are you new here?

What is that meant to mean?

a) It's not left biased?
b) It is left biased but not allowed to say so (and I'm too new to know it's forbidden)?
c) You don't think the voting will show he's not unanimously supported?
d) People actually dare speak out against left-biased opinion (in significant numbers)?

(I've been here years by the way.)

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/06/2022 13:55

He should be Prime Minister.

SofiaSoFar · 23/06/2022 13:56

Octomore · 23/06/2022 13:54

The voting - currently at 27% YABU - shows unanimous support for him, does it?

Righto...

Oh can you not stand him? How do you mean, like him personally or what he represents? What particularly offends you, or do you just write him off as left wing and therefore not for you? Are you a wealthy self employed person who identifies as middle or upper class? Will you never need recourse to a party or person who will defend you? Honestly I am Irish and know very little about this man or the bizarre state of current British politics. I'm just intrigued by the sort of people who identify as right wing (??) with very little nuance, just as a defensive mechanism

the80sweregreat · 23/06/2022 13:57

When they bring up any arguments he has the answers for them. He is blowing these people out of the water.
Nick Ferrari today mentioned the articles in the DM about certain practices that are not efficient ( it was in yesterday's DM) he was able to explain that it wasn't true and what really happens and how most of this is just rubbish. I believe him too! He is clear about his aims.
It might not be what anyone wants to hear , but at last it is someone who speaks some sense.
Strikes are not good for anyone and it's sad it's come to this, but ML is making his case really well. I just hope they can resolve it soon.

Its not left biased and people frequently air right wing views here.

Bouledeneige · 23/06/2022 14:00

TullyApplebottom I agree. I'm afraid anyone who lived through the 70s will be watching national strike action with some trepidation - it set us back decades as a country. If only it had been just a winter of discontent! Power cuts, rubbish piling up in the streets....

Not that I'm a fan of the government's response to the cost of living crisis. But I'm not sure what the solution is to a massive fiscal crisis and national debt, rising inflation and business and public services still trying to recover from the impact of covid. I'm not sure if growing the price of public sector pay will help recovery and do anything but continue to fuel inflation and the risk of tax rises? But I do know that the government is looking at how to cut public spending across all government departments so it could end up - combined with higher public sector wage settlements - in more job losses.

Fere · 23/06/2022 14:01

@SofiaSoFar ypu said you can't stand him. Can you explain why?

“Fascistic”?
i seem to recall a democratic election in 2019 … did I fall asleep and miss the coup?

WorriedMutha · 23/06/2022 14:03

I've enjoyed watching him hand politicos their arse but he did promote Brexit so it has to be a 7 out of 10 from me.

You of course are entitled not to care for him but the rest of your post is bullshit.

TullyApplebottom · 23/06/2022 14:04

Ps things are not great now - much more due to global lockdowns (which of course public sector and unions screamed for more of) and war between one of the worlds biggest energy producers against one of its biggest food producers. But it is not the 70s. If lynch and his kind get their way it will be tho

I'm old too. I remember the unions before Thatcher started to remove their powers and their ability to fight for their members.
