MIL gave OH money for my birthday cake

So my MIL gave OH £60 so he could buy me a birthday cake for tomorrow and get some snacks/treats for the kids.
He's spent it all and got my a cheap basic chocolate cake. I wanted a jubilee cake this year for something different. We had a chocolate cake 2weeks ago for my daughters birthday
So disappointed 😞 Has brought any bacon either so guess I'm not getting the breakfast I asked for either.
He's disappoints me more every year

What did spend the £60 on?

What did he spend the rest on as I guess the chocolate cake didn't cost that much?

Has he spent it on you or other stuff?

Why did your MIL need to give your DH £60, why couldn't he get a cake/snacks/treats himself?

What has he spent the money one and did he know that you specifically want a jubilee cake?

Leaving aside the fact that he's basically stolen money assigned for you, I have to ask:
Why does your MIL feel the need to pay for your birthday cake?
Why doesn't he spend his own money on you?

I suspect this is the tip of a very big iceberg.

Have you asked him what he’s done with the rest of the money? If he’s kept back money MIL intended to be spend on your birthday that’s very sneaky and low.

That's a lot of money for a cake. M&S do very nice cakes for about £15. I'd be pleased with one of those.

Imagine being such an incapable adult that your mother has to pay for your wife's birthday cake and then making it worse by pissing the money away.
