I'm pretty sure that there was no party.

JetTail · 23/05/2022 09:35

It simply couldn't have been.

Why?

Because it's not a party til the Irish show up!

YEEHAW!

You should care. That’s what they rely on.

I really can't find it in me to care 🤷‍♂️

itsgettingweird · 23/05/2022 09:49

I do fear that's their goal - disenfranchising the population so they stay in power.

We've seen it with other governments around the world

hamstersarse · 23/05/2022 09:51

It all depends on your definition of a party

I used to think it meant invitations, a specific time, a location etc. Now it just means a 10 minute break with a beer.

Some people have a very low bar of what a party is

But anyway, I too cannot bring myself to care. The manufactured outrage is tedious.

IpanemaBelle · 23/05/2022 09:55

I think for Boris it wasn't really a party like he is used to, remember when he was Foreign Secretary and slipped his security detail to attend that bunga bunga in Italy with the son of a KGB man, now THAT in Boris’ view was a party 😉

JetTail · 23/05/2022 09:58

Who the fuck cares? If I could have gone to a party, I would have!

Jesus, such a fucking commotion about him having a drink!

Meetings with just water were probably fine!

Jaysis. Fuck it. There's more to be worrying about. Namely the NHS.

Every single person that couldn't see a loved one, a dead loved one, an elderly loved one, a new born loved one etc
They should be fucking apoplectic with rage at BoJo. It is the height of pissing on those below whilst sipping champagne.

countrygirl99 · 23/05/2022 09:59

Doesn't mtter if it was a "party" or just a social gathering not defined as a "party". Still wasn't allowed.

Hee hee. I'm the least likely candidate to approve of a Tory, but for fuck's sake - quit the drama about a fucking party! Jesus Christ. It's ridiculous.

Anyone who could get around the 'rules', DID!

It's not ideal. I'll give you that. He has been fined. Blah.

Build a bridge and maybe take a tentative step towards getting over the bridge!

I can't stand Tory policies. Hate them.

However, Britain really lead the world imo in how Covid was handled.

If monkeypox invades - then I just give up! I can't be dealing with another pandemic.

No Irish there. Couldn't have been a party.

It’s Johnson. Buying into his spin by calling him by his second name weakens your argument.

@JetTail
Who the fuck cares? If I could have gone to a party, I would have!

Yes. That's the ENTIRE point.

Why couldn't you go to a party? Because it was illegal.

Why was it illegal? Because he and his Government had just MADE THAT LAW.

The rule of the law is the fundamental difference between government and tyranny.

It's not about the actual party. It's about making laws - very oppressive, repressive laws that restrict people's freedoms to an extreme extent - and then blatantly not obeying them yourself.

I'm pretty sure the private secretary has an Irish surname, but we'll say no more about it lol.
