I'm pretty sure that there was no party.

Photographs on the news of the twat at a party. No defence just none

Genuinely is there really anyone that gives a toss? Nope. It is all drummed up from Dom and no, he won't care and won't resign. Move on folks or get some professional counselling, it is unhealthy to stew about such trivia for this long.

I don't think objecting to the government really blatantly flouting the rule of law means someone is mentally ill. Why do you think that?

Swayingpalmtrees · 24/05/2022 11:52

It has been going on for months and months and monthscorpse. It cost nearly five hundred thousand pounds, hundreds of hours of police time, fines have been issued, apologies have been made multiple times. That is it!!

We are done with the whole sorry fucking saga.

Anyone still hanging on to this negative and toxic subject needs help, serious help or to get a life! If this is all you can stew on week in and week out, I feel very very sorry for you. The rest of the country stopped caring ages ago. It is just you and the BBC now banging on relentlessly.

No one cares. They really really don't.

And yes we did lose someone very young and important during the lockdown, do I care that someone ate cheese, drank wine, ate some curry! NO!!

I am not wasting any more of my own time on such rubbish either, so adieu!
And best of luck moving on with your life.

ilovesooty · 24/05/2022 12:32

we are done

no one cares

Speak for yourself. You don't speak for me. I care about the fact that the PM lies to Parliament.

And I don't need counselling.

Speak for yourself, Johnson apologist.

If you think having a proven lying cunt for our national leader is "trivia", you're the one in need of professional help.

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 24/05/2022 14:48

You are very wrong about that.

We know that the Tory party and their supporters stopped caring a very long time ago. The rest of the country cares very much and for very good reasons.Hmm

Interestingly the Panorama programme due to be broadcast on BBC 2 at 7pm appears to have been pulled.

chocolatemademefat · 24/05/2022 18:06

I wish I didn’t care about their behaviour. My husband died alone because of the rules they set out so I care a lot. To all the people who obviously don’t give a shit - aren’t you the lucky ones.

Dashdotdotdash · 24/05/2022 18:24

x2boys · 23/05/2022 09:39

I'm past caring tbh

You don't care that the people who make the law and who were constantly telling us how important it is to comply were in fact regularly breaking those very same laws?

Given the choice between a government who would do that and another of at least equal competence which wouldn't, which would you vote for?

Tory central office seem to be upping their game.

Do you care that we have a Prime Minister who has been caught out lying to Parliament yet again?

My grandmother will tell you WW2 was much easier than what we have been through to date I might add. It mainly happened elsewhere in Europe and there was no sense of isolation. Dancing, community spirit and the war time effort made everyone remember the good times as well as the bad during the war. Covid, now the war and now Monkeypox, not to mention the rest that is happening right now is far worse in many older people's view - who can compare both experiences.

Tell that to Londoners who went through the Blitz, and to others who went through rationing. To say nothing of those who saw their friends being mowed down on the invasion beaches.

Your grandmother would have to be in her 90s to have any memory of the war, and as she would have been a child at the time I would seriously question her knowledge of the harsh realities.

Dashdotdotdash · 24/05/2022 18:25

No, still being advertised.

It's not on the schedules now. It's been replaced by a Marcus Wareing cookery programme.

My Italian mother (now 86) had to work the fields as a child in Naples during the war as my grandfather had to fight in the Italian Army. Dont assume that every person who experienced the war as a child had the same experiences. And while im about it Im sure the children of the Italians who perished on the Arandora Star faced very harsh realities

mmmmmmghturep · 24/05/2022 19:02

@ilovesooty its starting now

ilovesooty · 24/05/2022 19:04

Thanks - I'm watching. It's described as a change of schedule and can't be recorded, which is strange.

But that is exactly my point. The person I was responding to said that her grandmother was saying WW2 wasn't that bad compared with what is going on now. I was pointing out that her grandmother's memories of what happened when she was a child 80 years ago may not provide a representative record. Plus the experience of a young child living a fairly sheltered life in a country that was never invaded is likely to be very different from that of a child in a country that was invaded and was a major part of the theatre of war.

Blossomtoes · 24/05/2022 23:11

What’s a representative record? As you point out, experiences of the same event can differ widely.

mmmmmmghturep · 24/05/2022 23:24

The UK wasnt invaded The Italians on the Arandora Star were put there by Churchill

CorpseReviver · 25/05/2022 07:46

Ffs it is so deeply embarrassing and upsetting that there are people sufficiently ignorant and stupid to claim that fucking covid restrictions are comparable to the Second World War.

Fucking hell.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 25/05/2022 08:56

you are finding it deeply embarrassing and upsetting that one posters nan said she had a better time during the war and that she hated the isolation of covid restrictions?

or are you referring to past threads and social media

Dashdotdotdash · 25/05/2022 09:02

To be fair, only one person has suggested that what is going on now is comparable to WW2, and even they don't say that is solely down to covid restrictions.

Ah what a shame that you've completely misremembered the post. That's not what it said at all.

Here you go, to refresh your memory:

So no. Not that "one person had a better experience" but that WW2 was much easier than what we have been through to date I might add

And yes, I find it deeply embarrassing and upsetting as a member of the human species to be even slightly associated with a statement quite as stupid, ignorant, offensive and insulting as that.
