My window cleaner, it would appear that a bucket of water has gone up by 20%

I know fuel prices have gone up, but he stays very local so not exactly doing the miles. 🙄

Shorter to have a list of things that haven't. Our standard outgoings are up 50% or so month on month, mostly electric/gas but also groceries.

My car/home insurance have barely changed, for something that hasn't.

Quite. With Inflation running at nearly 10%, everyone needs to increase their income merely to stay treading water.

Err- he may have living costs as well...you know food and heating

EileenGC · 06/05/2022 21:18

My favourite lunch takeaway. It's now €9 instead of €7, and they fill the bowl less. Toiletries, the basic ones. Shower gel and lenses liquid etc. I keep putting off ordering the next batch of monthly lenses because I'm too scared to find out how much the cost has gone up.

Flights and hotels. I'm not talking about holidays. When you have 2-3 overseas trips a month and are self-employed, it adds up quickly. More when tied to certain routes or dates. I'm not sure for how long this will be sustainable because we aren't paid more than before, but it's an easy 100-200 extra costs per trip now.

XenoBitch · 06/05/2022 21:19

Dog food.

Also, Iceland chicken thighs. Used to be less than £2 for a kilo. Then they dropped the pack down to 750g but kept the price. They are now £3 a pack.

Scandalous! I like having those cards in a drawer for unexpected birthday parties.

Surely not! Would they be so brazen!? That's a massive increase! Well 50%.

Local Indian takeaway for 2 people was £20.50 for years. Last week, it's gone up to £24.70 for the same food. That's +20%.

Wetherspoon coffee was 99p, now £1.20, again +20%.

Can't complaint too much though as my gin has stayed the same :-)

Harrriet · 06/05/2022 21:29

Tin foil
Lambs Lettuce...its the tortoises favorite!

LadyCatStark · 06/05/2022 21:30

Everything! We’ve been completely priced out of our local shop now. Eggs have gone up from £1.10 to £1.30, bread from £1.10 to £1.59, bacon from £3.50 ish (already expensive!) to £4.65, even the crappy fake Lucosade drinks that DS likes have gone up from 50p to 59p.
