I'm constantly knackered and promise myself to go to bed early and wake up at a decent time so that I can fit in breakfast for myself and not rush around but never actually manage. By the time I lie down after dinner/chores it's 9pm and I feel like I "need to enjoy my adult time" and either binge watch or read/text/faff about. I'm not particularly happy with my routine. What's yours? DH says it's normal not to go to bed before 11pm but I think we are the exception rather than the rule...

We go around 1030 after the news!
I certainly like to be sorted & in bed by 2300. 💤
However, I have to be disciplined because I can be a night owl. My chap is a lark so he needs his sleep so he can get up early & bring me a cuppa when I shout in the morning. God love him. 💕

Pre DS usually around midnight much later at weekends, but I didn't get up until 8 during the week or 9+ at weekends, I used to think any earlier was crazy. Now I'm about to switch lights off and go to sleep, late for me now is after eleven. DS didn't wake up until 8:15 this morning but usually it's 7/7:30. I need a good eight hours and it can take me a little while to go to sleep. I'll listen to the archers tonight and hopefully be asleep by eleven.

TheGetaway · 02/05/2022 22:29

Up to bed at 10pm
Lights out at 10:30 (now!)
Alarm is 6:20am
Up at 7am

RewildingAmbridge · 02/05/2022 22:33

We're usually sat down by 7:30/8 after DS goes to bed, Fri sat sun we all eat dinner together around 5:30, working I don't finish until 9:30pm on Mondays so easy something light when I get home then pretty much go straight to bed, Tuesday Thursday DS has dinner at nursery so DH and I eat around 8, one does bedtime while the other cooks and we've all been out all day so the house isn't a mess. Wednesday can be late as DH works late and DS is with Grandma during the day so he eats at 5ish but I don't get in until six ish so it's straight into bath and bed, and I can't start cooking until 7:30 sometimes I do and eat by myself or sometimes I wait and eat with DH around 9/9:30. We both work full time over four days to save money on childcare but each doing a long day is how we manage that.

If your routine is more regular you need to work out a way to be sitting down by eight, that way you've had a good couple of hours relaxing before bed

I go up to bed at 10ish , mainly because that is what time the dog starts getting angsty about going up and he won’t go alone . I then watch Tv and mess about with my iPad until about 1/2am sometimes 3 as I can’t sleep earlier than that - I get up between 7:30 / 8:30 and that’s plenty of sleep for me .

Snozzlemaid · 02/05/2022 22:34

Anywhere between 11pm and 1am.
Alarm is usually 7.30am.
Often awake for an hour or so sometime in between as well.
I don't seem to need as much sleep as I used to.

TheSillyMastiff · 02/05/2022 22:37

Lights out at 11pm wake up at 7:30am.

I like a good 8.5 hours of sleep a night.

mrsfollowill · 02/05/2022 22:43

I go to bed at 12.30am most nights and up at 7.10 am. DH goes at 11.15 pm and up at 6.35am in the week. Adult DS 10.30pm and up 6.30am for work- we all work FT but I WFH these days so log on around 8.10am rather than having to dash out for the bus!
I love the last hour at night on my own in solitude.
At weekends all bets are off- I might go up at 10.30pm and sleep in until 10.00am or stay up until 3.00 am and get up at 9.00am.

Howabsolutelyfanfuckingtastic · 02/05/2022 22:44

On weekdays i usually go up to bed between 10 and 11pm and then I go to sleep between 11.30 and 12.30am mostly unless i have one of those nights were i struggle to get to sleep. Of a weekend i go up a bit later and go to sleep between midnight and 3am depending on how tired i am and what i'm doing. DH and I go up to bed together most nights.

Blackalice · 02/05/2022 23:34

Go up 11pm, sleep by midnight usually.

JaceLancs · 03/05/2022 00:09

Between 10 and 11
I then spend at least an hour reading, watching catch up tv or surfing the internet

Phrenologistsfinger · 03/05/2022 00:14

We have just got into bed. Will prob internet for about an hour then fall asleep. You are pretty normal imho.

CustardySergeant · 03/05/2022 00:16

I go to bed about 2 am.

Sunnytwobridges · 03/05/2022 00:23

I used to go to bed at midnight. But as I"ve gotten older, it's become earlier and earlier which makes me sad as I feel like I miss out on the time to read/watch tv. And it's only about 3 hours of downtime since I now get off work around 6ish. These days I'm usually asleep by 9:00. But I do wake several times during the night and I'm usually up by 5/530

RagzRebooted · 03/05/2022 00:26

Bed at 12, sleep by 12:30-1am and up at 6:45 weekdays. Weekends I sleep until 9 or 10 and may stay up a bit later. DH usually goes to sleep around 1:30-2am and gets up 10-11 unless he has to be up for something.

pistachioicecream · 03/05/2022 00:42

Too late. Have just got into bed now, and stressing the dog will wake me up in the night to poo as she hasn’t been this evening. I even took her for a walk at 11pm but nothing! Even if she does sleep through she’ll be awake sometime around 6.15am which means so will I. 😥 Bit later this evening as DH away so I’m doing everything on my own but it’s not usually before 11.30-12ish and the dog is awake between 6-6.30. Definitely don’t get enough sleep.

AuntTwacky · 03/05/2022 00:53

Too late usually 12.30-1am

OneTC · 03/05/2022 00:55

Between 12 and 1am. Alarm set for 6

Poopootatty · 03/05/2022 01:06

10pm is my favourite time to go to bed. Maybe an hour or so later at the weekends. I’m a morning person and I struggle to stay awake in the evenings unless I am out. Happily get up at 6am although at the moment we’re being woken 3+ times a night by DS or DD, so I’m not really getting enough sleep at all! So envious of those reporting 8 hours a night. I’ve already been woken up x2 tonight….

pistachioicecream · 03/05/2022 01:12

Predictably the dog started barking. Let her out but she just stood in the garden for 10 mins then ran up to my bed when she came in. Grrr. Little madam. She’s back down in her bed now and it’s now nearly quarter past 1. Am very cross. Anyone want a dog?

NearlyHeadlessNick · 03/05/2022 01:50

I used to feel constantly exhausted so started making sure I was in bed by 9.30, 10, preferably with lights out by then. However this is accounting for the kids being up at 5.30 and waking up at least once between them in the night. It's not unheard of for me to be in bed by 8.30, but then reading or on the phone.

SonicWomb · 03/05/2022 03:20

Bed about 9.30, sleep by 10-10.30 usually wake a couple of times in the night and up about 7.

hidethetoaster · 03/05/2022 03:24

I usually initiate when we head upstairs. Driven by when I feel im nodding off in front of tv! It's getting earlier. Used to be 11-12. Now it's 10-10.30. I feel it could start ed

FiveShelties · 03/05/2022 03:25

Bed by 11.30 ish, and read for about 30 minutes.

BritWifeInUSA · 03/05/2022 04:05

About 9.30 pm.

Alarm is 4.30 am. I start work at 5.15 am. Even at the weekend I can’t sleep much beyond 5 am.
