I'm constantly knackered and promise myself to go to bed early and wake up at a decent time so that I can fit in breakfast for myself and not rush around but never actually manage. By the time I lie down after dinner/chores it's 9pm and I feel like I "need to enjoy my adult time" and either binge watch or read/text/faff about. I'm not particularly happy with my routine. What's yours? DH says it's normal not to go to bed before 11pm but I think we are the exception rather than the rule...

9pm at the latest. Early nights are the only way I can manage the fatigue of lupus.

Bed usually at 9/9.30pm!

We are up at 4pm twice a week for ds swimming and at 5 on Saturdays.

He then trains every evening and so we are bedding down to get up or bedding down to catch up 🤣🤣🙈

We go to bed this time but we both spend 30 minutes reading or watching something like news on iPads etc before we fall asleep.

There's no way I'd be awake at 11pm nowadays - ever Blush

Ragwort · 03/05/2022 20:24

I don't have a set time and I certainly don't go to bed at the same time as my DH! It generally depends on how tired I am, if there is anything decent on tv, if I am bored Blush or not ... I don't have to get up at a specific time most mornings so I am free to do what I like .... as I have got older I don't really need more than 6 hours sleep ...

User310 · 03/05/2022 20:24

I have been telling myself for years I will ‘go to bed early tonight’. In reality, I have probably had around 5 early nights in the last 4 years.

I tend to go to bed at around 12.30 and faff around before falling asleep around 1.30-2am ish. On school days, I am up at 7.30 am and at the weekend I am up at 8am-8.15am latest.

I think I am in a perpetual state of second wind!

orangetriangle · 03/05/2022 20:28

usually between 10 and 11 but always have a nap for an hour and a half in the afternoon alarm set for 7 wfh but iget up at least three times in the night for the toilet weekends I sleep until between 8 and 9 but still go to bed between 10 and 11 dont have any small children though these days though my daughter slept through the night at 12 weeks and never ever had a disturbed night woke early though as did my son who was also a good sleeper
My niece has never slept through the night yet and she will be 4 end of the month!!

carrotcruncher81 · 03/05/2022 20:28

@RewildingAmbridge sorry, but can I just say it's so nice to see someone who listens to the archers at bed time too!!! I bloody love it z

SonicWomb · 03/05/2022 20:32

@itsgettingweird

We are up at 4pm twice a week for ds swimming and at 5 on Saturdays.

He then trains every evening and so we are bedding down to get up or bedding down to catch up

Is it worth it, what level is he and what are his aspirations? I have a budding swimmer and am getting anxious! Sorry to derail.

GrandRapids · 03/05/2022 20:39

It can often be 1-2am and up at 7.30 to then do a full day of work. I'm really tired tonight so will try and be in bed by 10.30

Gherkingreen · 03/05/2022 20:44

Usually about 10:20, read for 15 minutes, fall fast asleep.
Usually wake at 2am for a wee then wide awake for an hour or two as brain won't shut up (thank you perimenopause) and then sleep again til 7.
Am knackered most afternoons and would kill for a full night's sleep with no wee/brain fizz.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 03/05/2022 20:47

I hate the evenings. I’m exhausted by 8pm.
I sleep very badly and am in bed by 8. I read for an hour or so then sleep until 2-ish. That’s often it until I get up at 6 or 7.
If I stay up I get even less sleep.

Somuddled · 03/05/2022 20:47

Well it is 8.50 now and I'm in bed. I wake up at 6 normally
This morning it was 4am. I jsut prefer the world in the morning.

OurChristmasMiracle · 03/05/2022 20:49

10-10:30 how I moaned as a teenager when my mum
would send me to bed at 10pm- by 11pm I’m desperate to go to bed these days if im not there already. Alarm goes off at 6 and I drag myself out of bed arise fresh and energetic ready to start the day by 6:30 and our the house by 7am!

1forward2back · 03/05/2022 21:02

I don’t seem to have a routine. Some nights I have to beg the kids to go to bed at 8.30 so I can too. Other nights I’ll lie awake browsing the internet until 1am.

PrincessSpanky · 03/05/2022 21:06

About 1045-1100 and most nights read.
Up at 615am for exercise.

wonkygorgeous · 03/05/2022 21:31

Since menopause it's 1am!
An early night is midnight and I'm awake and needing to get going at 7am.

Im not tired, my body seems to need less sleep now.

Historically I always needed 10 hours sleep so this is a revelation.

CheapFoodShits · 03/05/2022 21:40

Anywhere between 11pm and 1am. Then up of a morning 6.30-7am. Begrudgingly 😁

Hangingtrousers · 03/05/2022 21:45

Go up around 9.30 and mostly straight to sleep. (Obvs not tonight!) I wake naturally around 6. I love sleeping so want to maximise sleep time! If something wakes me in the night though I often struggle to go back to sleep for a couple of hours.

Tohaveandtohold · 03/05/2022 21:46

Weekdays, I’m in bed at 10:30 and aim to sleep before 11:30 and I wake up at 6:30.
on Friday and Saturday, I tend to sleep before 12 and wake up whenever.

DustyMaiden · 03/05/2022 21:46

I was going to say like you always planning to be earlier but it’s usually 2 or 3. I think 11 is early enough.

MrsTxx · 03/05/2022 21:49

I tend to go to sleep between half 9 - 10 when I’m not on a late at work. If I finish work at 10 il probably be asleep for 11 so I’m ready for school run the next morning

WeCouldBeSpearows · 03/05/2022 21:51

Depends when I need to get up. If I have an early start, 8pm. If I don't, usually between 10 and 11pm.

Coldnoseandtoes · 03/05/2022 21:52

Ideally I'd fall asleep between 10.30 and 11. Often though I'm still awake at midnight, I have to force myself to stop scrolling. Alarm and out of bed at 7am. If I'm awake after midnight I really struggle in the morning!

Wallywobbles · 03/05/2022 21:58

Try to be on my way by 9.30. We have no telly which helps a lot.

ManateeFair · 03/05/2022 22:04

I’m almost never in bed before midnight, and whatever time I go to bed I’m almost never asleep before 1am, usually more like 2am.
