to think the ‘Great reset’ is a good thing?

First things first. I’ve always been a huge fan of Klaus Schwab. He’s a pioneer and a thought leader, and sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger channeling David Attenborough. He’s an intellectual colossus.

With that in mind, I had to tune my brain to ‘objective’ mode.

I spent a lot of time alone in the woodland this weekend, both figuratively and literally smelling the bluebells. I’ve reflected, ruminated and re-evaluated the concepts, and decided that yes - indeed:

’You will own nothing and be happy’.

Jeff Bezos is another personal hero. Say what you want about employees urinating in bottles in order to meet targets - the man knows how to get things done. I for one don’t want to own a lawnmower - it takes up space.

If Jeff can drone me a flymo when needed, so that the 1 square metre of lawn I have outside ‘my’ (by which I mean Blackstone’s) bijou capsule studio can be freshly mown, and then whisked off to another persons patch as required, then that’s a world I can get on board with.

I for one cannot wait for my phone to ping with a constant stream of micropayment notifications as I inhale oxygen and emit CO2. I’m already purchasing carbon credits to deal with my personal emissions.

Is anyone else looking forward to it?

Cool story bro.

What on Earth is the great reset?
This is a very strange thread.

00100001 · 25/04/2022 19:18

It's the glue

DoodleBelle · 25/04/2022 19:18

You ok hun?

G3m · 25/04/2022 19:19

the actual fuck?

ForeverLooking · 25/04/2022 19:19

🥴 was it just the Blubells you were sniffing?

DigitalGoat · 25/04/2022 19:20

So the WEF reckon we'll own nothing and we'll be happy.

That's because we'll rent everything

So someone must own it. Imagine how fucking ecstatic they're going to be.

But I take your point about the lawnmower OP

watcherintherye · 25/04/2022 19:20

No, I’m not looking forward to it one little bit. Sounds hideous.

Heresafe · 25/04/2022 19:20

ive no idea what this means ! But good you sound happy

Flopbopandpop · 25/04/2022 19:21

@SwanBuster so you dream of a world where you own nothing and dream of the moment your phone is pinging you to let you know you are being charged to breath.

Surely you should not own a phone then, and you dream of being charged for breathing air 😅

Scianel · 25/04/2022 19:21

OP I am so with you! What a visionary that man is.
I for one am really excited about the insect-based protein products that we'll be able to purchase soon.

bellac11 · 25/04/2022 19:21

Theres no such thing as a great reset

Think back to the first one in our modern (ish) world, in the 1300s when plague wiped out a third of the population, wages went up, people had more freedom to up and leave a town or job to work for who they wanted. It has not resulted in a fair division of wealth and power

We've had a few others since then, nothing really changes.

This is part of it, The World Economic forum’s predictions for 2030.

I’m so on board that I’ve already started participating in the gig economy to get used to the idea. It’s very liberating.

Yes!

Personally I love the idea that plant seeds are something to be copyrighted and trademarked henceforth too. It’s high time we allowed the engines of profit to control nature.

Are you on mushrooms?

Teachertotutor · 25/04/2022 19:24

So you think it's OK for poorly-paid employees to not even have time to take a dignified wee, so that one man can get mega-rich and you can get what you want quickly? You are what's wrong with this world. You also sound rather strange...

MistyGreenAndBlue · 25/04/2022 19:24

You nearly had me there. 😂 in my defence, I'm tired.

User3579 · 25/04/2022 19:25

what the actual fuck am I reading, surely a windup?

Thebestwaytoscareatory · 25/04/2022 19:25

What on Earth is the great reset?

It was the title of the World Economic Forum's annual conference in 2020. Its core theme was about how we could/should rebuild society to be more equal and sustainable post covid. Not entirely sure the OP has understood the idea tbb and may be one of the many conspiracy theorists who saw "world economic forum" and "great reset" together and dove head first into the deep end.

AgnesNaismith · 25/04/2022 19:26

I don’t know about all of this, sounds a bit odd.

Onionpatch · 25/04/2022 19:27

What DigitalGoat said.

catsonahottinroof · 25/04/2022 19:28

You almost had me there OP until you got onto Jeff Bezos - I wonder what's happened to the Great Reset plan - they seem to have gone a bit quiet about it recently. The bug burgers don't seem to be taking off either.

You know this already happens and punishes millions of poor farmers and harms millions of starving people. 🙄grain.org/article/entries/5142-seed-laws-that-criminalise-farmers-resistance-and-fightback
