to think the ‘Great reset’ is a good thing?

First things first. I’ve always been a huge fan of Klaus Schwab. He’s a pioneer and a thought leader, and sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger channeling David Attenborough. He’s an intellectual colossus.

With that in mind, I had to tune my brain to ‘objective’ mode.

I spent a lot of time alone in the woodland this weekend, both figuratively and literally smelling the bluebells. I’ve reflected, ruminated and re-evaluated the concepts, and decided that yes - indeed:

’You will own nothing and be happy’.

Jeff Bezos is another personal hero. Say what you want about employees urinating in bottles in order to meet targets - the man knows how to get things done. I for one don’t want to own a lawnmower - it takes up space.

If Jeff can drone me a flymo when needed, so that the 1 square metre of lawn I have outside ‘my’ (by which I mean Blackstone’s) bijou capsule studio can be freshly mown, and then whisked off to another persons patch as required, then that’s a world I can get on board with.

I for one cannot wait for my phone to ping with a constant stream of micropayment notifications as I inhale oxygen and emit CO2. I’m already purchasing carbon credits to deal with my personal emissions.

Is anyone else looking forward to it?

Thing is, he isn’t reaslly an intellectual colossus, he’s a reasonably bright lecturer who set up something called the WEF a grandiose term for a millionaires club. His great reset and stakeholder capitalism are rehashed ideas that have not in fact been particularly successful in the past. But hey man, if this is your religion, that’s cool as long as you don’t try to make it the religion of all.

I’m sorry, but you’re wrong.

Colossus was perhaps underplaying it. He’s a titan - the finest mind since Confucius. His visionary model for the world can only be described as magnificent, and the type of clarity that is much needed in an age of short tests thinking.

I sleep well, knowing that under his guiding principles, similarly capable yet not quite on his level minds such as Boris and Biden will be forced to usher those of us who don’t have the capacity to be self moderating and whom, left to our own devices would pillage the planet towards a more sustainable model of living.

I’m not capable of making decisions myself, and knowing Klaus has my best interests at heart is deeply reassuring.

Oh dear, I’m awfully sorry but you really do need to do a wee bit more research. We are I think always like this when we find a new religion, enthused and engaged, but be careful, we are let down so very often.

I’ve done plenty. And it’s funny that you compare this to religion - because on my eyes Klaus is basically a demigod - that’s fact.

In many ways, he is indeed a prophet that the rest of us are utterly unworthy of. Perhaps his ideas won’t be accepted, and he’ll end up figuratively crucified for them. This would be a great tragedy for mankind, which maybe will need another two millennia to see a brain like his come around again.

I’m sorry. I really don’t want a right wing world with freedom of finance for those at the top and no freedom of movement, socially, economically, physically for those whom you consider to be the great unwashed. Right wingers have no support here.
I’m off to bed, I hope you sleep well.

What are you doing up posting so late. Don’t you have school tomorrow or something?

You too. I can but hope that perhaps Klaus will visit you in a dream tonight. He often appears in mine 🥰

I presume you’re talking to someone else?

No.

I am all for people having less useless crap and an economy not predicated on consumption.

But that is not what people like JB want. What they want is to own the means of production, the means of distribution, your home, your kid's school, the books and films on your reader, the art on your wall, the computer or phone you use to access the internet, and the internet.

Chesterton used to say that capitalism taken to it's logical conclusion was just a mirror image of communism. That's what they are talking about.

Just found out Klaus has a list of ‘Young global leaders’ too - it’s my aim for the next two years to join.
