How often do you have your windows cleaned?

My window cleaner comes roughly once a month (weather dependant) and it’s not that expensive, but with cost of living etc, I feel like it’s something I could do with not paying for every four weeks. If you have a window cleaner, how often do they come? AIBU to think windows don’t need to be cleaned so frequently?

We’ve lived in our 3 bed semi for 12 years and I’ve had the windows cleaned once. I do the downstairs ones maybe once a year. The upstairs ones I just rely on the rain….! Just can’t be bothered to spend the money on doing it to be honest. Would rather spend it on other things.

Notimeforaname · 22/04/2022 10:22

Once per week. 6 euro.

ThreeLittleDots · 22/04/2022 10:23

Literally never.

nearlyspringyay · 22/04/2022 10:23

Once a month £12

BoristalkedaboutBruno22 · 22/04/2022 10:24

Every six weeks £20

SparkyBlue · 22/04/2022 10:24

About every three or four months €40

Georgyporky · 22/04/2022 10:27

Just once. He didn't realise ownership had changed before doing a poor job & knocking for money.
They don't need doing, rain washes them clean.

CutesyUserName · 22/04/2022 10:27

Every 2 months and it's just gone up from £15 to £25 so think I might change that to every 3 or 4 months.

SallyWD · 22/04/2022 10:30

Every 2 months. They look fine to me!

AuntieMarys · 22/04/2022 10:30

My dh does them.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/04/2022 10:32

Feeling the same way here. £30 each time. Considering only having them cleaned in autumn/winter. They don’t get particularly dirty in spring/summer.

Purplemist · 22/04/2022 10:32

It used to be every two weeks for a fiver, now changed to every four weeks for £7.

MiseryWIthAStent · 22/04/2022 10:34

Once a month £9

SweetPetrichor · 22/04/2022 10:35

Never, I wash them myself. I'm too much of a skinflint to pay to have something done that I can do easily myself!

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 22/04/2022 10:37

Used to be monthly for a tenner ( I think) but DH has invested in a long handled brush so he does them now.

20viona · 22/04/2022 10:41

Every 8 weeks.

bigbluebus · 22/04/2022 10:43

Ours used to come every 8 weeks. A couple of visits ago he said he would now be coming every 6 weeks as that was the only way he could make his round pay. He does always text the day before he comes and is OK if you want to skip a visit (as I coincidentally had to do for the next visit after he'd told me he'd be coming more often - but that was due to building works). I pay £20 - we've got a lot of windows!

Same here! We have ours cleaned twice a year. Window cleaners are very keen to get you to agree to 2-3 monthly cleans but it's completely unnecessary unless you live on a very busy road

RightOnTheEdge · 22/04/2022 10:45

Mine seems to come quite randomly, sometimes it feels ages between visits. They only charge £6 though.

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 22/04/2022 10:47

Twice a month at £6.50 a time. Hate dirty windows.
I like clean shiny surfaces like mirrors, glass, windows and kitchen units and keep them all clean and shiny

familyissues12345 · 22/04/2022 10:50

Once every 4 weeks - £14 (5 bed detached)

We are thinking of stopping soon though, it drives the dog absolutely nutty and we're worried at some point she's going to really hurt herself (she hurls herself at the Windows in Anger/panic) so it doesn't seem worth her stress

mizzo · 22/04/2022 10:52

First Monday of every month, we pay £20. Makes me jump out of my skin without fail and I have to race around closing windows.

Madmaxxy · 22/04/2022 10:53

Every couple of months £15 a time. We live close to a busy road so the front of the house gets filthy very quickly.

MajorCarolDanvers · 22/04/2022 10:54

Once a fortnight
£14
Big house lots of windows

TheGoogleMum · 22/04/2022 10:54

We never know when to expect ours he just appears. We reduced to once every other month so we're caught out less often. He does it for just £10 a time so cant complain too much!
