Linseed/flaxseed helps with constipation.

cauliflowersqueeze · 14/04/2022 00:31

I’d wait and relax. Sometimes your bowel just needs a bit of time.

oliviastwisted · 14/04/2022 00:32

Prune juice

Jobseeker19 · 14/04/2022 00:32

You need the infamous Shitters Tea from Holland and Barrett.

Stew it for 5 min then drink, by the morning you will have a bowel movement.

Dried apricots or prunes with lots of water.

If your stool has compacted to an enormous plug which is difficult to pass, you may want to attempt a little bit of initial digital extraction. Not for the faint-hearted; just insert a finger (short nails essential) into your rectum to pick away at any compacted poo, removing a little bit at a time, until it doesn't feel so impossible to poop out.
I had to do this for a while after some hefty perineal stitches left me terrified of straining. Worked really well.

sauceyorange · 14/04/2022 00:52

Roast tomatoes and peppers. Both contain high levels of carotenoids which irritate the bowel lining and encourage throughput

ESEMEF63 · 14/04/2022 00:53

Have you tried MicroLAX? ( not micromax) its an enema put into back passage via a little squeezy tube.
I get very constipated a few weeks after I had my babies (each time) probably due to the stress and new life, and ended up in a viscous cycle of bad constipation and painful cuts , my doctor gave me Microlax it was the only thing that helped me. I did one every day and after 1 week the cuts were well healed and my bowels went back to normal.
If you are very stuck & getting cuts and at wits end this really helps soften things up and clears you out, then try all the good stuff like prune juice and other suggestions and stop the Microlax, as you don't want to get used to it for too long or get addicted...a week maximum.
It can be bought over the counter for around £1.50 each.

StrawberrySanta · 14/04/2022 00:53

Something too sugary with a large cup of strong coffee

Or

A curry from a dodgy with low rating takeaway

Guaranteed colon cleanse after any of these.
On a side note, I've got the laxative drops from the chemist the other day and it kicked off the next morning!
