HopeIsNotAStrategy · 14/04/2022 11:09

@5zeds

Water and walk
This, absolutely. Are you sitting around a lot?
Spidey66 · 14/04/2022 11:10

You have my sympathy! I suffered badly after being on opiate based meds for a fractured shoulder last autumn. I tried senna, lactulose, loads of water, dried apricots (my normal go-to) but my god it was horrendous. My husband had to help me Blush

Spidey66 · 14/04/2022 11:12

@kittykarate

2 marlboro and an espresso.
I was going to suggest a fag Wink When I smoked it always got me moving lol.

Finger up the bottom in the bath

x2boys · 14/04/2022 11:32

Please ignore all the stupid suggestions of various food options ,they won't help they will just make things more sluggish,,you already have movingly which is the best thing, it just takes a while to work its way through the system I have a child with chronic constipation, movicol is brilliant but it might not be immediate

x2boys · 14/04/2022 11:33

Movicol not Movingly *

Igmum · 14/04/2022 11:35

So pleased it worked! I would add squats, porridge and walking to that (can't believe the glycerin suppositories didn't work for you, I have to stay near the bathroom when I use one!)

Foods full of fibre are great for keeping things regular but not great when someone is impacted it really frustrates me when I read threads like this

Wnikat · 14/04/2022 11:40

Kiwi fruit

DragonOverTheMoon · 14/04/2022 11:43

I get constipated when I eat too much fibre and don't drink enough water. When you don't eat meat very often and avoid wheat and sugar it's really hard to have a diet that doesn't just consist of fibre.

XingMing · 14/04/2022 13:07

Coconut water: half a pint every morning.

GettingStuffed · 14/04/2022 13:11

Chia water. 1 teaspoon of seeds in a glass of water , leave for about 15 minutes until they produce gel on the outside.

Goldfishmountainclimber · 14/04/2022 14:57

My 4 month old is struggling to poo.
He is in pain when moving his bowels and there quite thick..
any tips?

he’s bottle fed - anti reflux milk (since he was 10 weeks) which has to be given within a certain time as it thickens and I’m concerned it’s thickening inside him & that’s why he’s struggling to move his bowels
