AIBU or is my cat BU?

Dcat has decided it no longer suits His Fluffiness to exit the house through the doors. Instead he wants to come in and out via the living room window. This means I have to stop what I'm doing, open the window and pick up whatever he has knocked off in the process of wriggling out. If I try to guide him through the door, shake food at the door, etc he just sits on the windowsill and screams.
This is new, and very annoying.
Is he BU? Or am I?

Learn your place, OP. You're not the boss of him.

VestaTilley · 10/04/2022 13:43

I suspect you already know the answer.

He is in charge, you are his minion. You have to do what he wants, the end.

Xpologog · 10/04/2022 13:44

He is not just your cat, you are his servant. Cats rule. Every time.

Discodancinggiraffe · 10/04/2022 13:45

YABU. My cat and I have discussed it. We are torn. He feels your cat should LTB. But I feel you just need further training.

PeeAche2 · 10/04/2022 13:46

YABVU. It is degrading to a cat to have to use the same means of entry and exit as a human. It's like asking the Queen to use the servant's door. Apologise to your cat.

DinosaurDuvet · 10/04/2022 13:47

Is this a reverse?

Spottydotdotty · 10/04/2022 13:47

YABU

MurmuratingStarling · 10/04/2022 13:48

YABU to say DCAT! Grin

Also, YABU, as pps have said, because fluffington cat is BOSS. Surely you know that being a cat servant?! Confused

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 10/04/2022 13:48

Of course you're being unreasonable.

Have you considered leaving the window open all the time? Obviously you'll have to have the heating on flat out for 10.5 months of the year, you wouldn't want him to get cold.

Also provide a selection of easily damaged and expensive ornaments for him to knock off. Preferably with sentimental value.

DropYourSword · 10/04/2022 13:49

My cat will sit for an hour to and wait for me to open the screen door for her. As soon as I do she sods off!!
She also wants to be let in via the bedroom window, which has a screen cover. Literally not possible, but I'M the unreasonable one!!

BiscuitLover3678 · 10/04/2022 13:50

@DinosaurDuvet

Is this a reverse?
😂
DdraigGoch · 10/04/2022 13:50

YABU. Cats are never unreasonable.

BiscuitLover3678 · 10/04/2022 13:50

YABU because you let it happen once so why would you stop?

FuzzyPuffling · 10/04/2022 13:51

Both our cats do the same. It is the Cat's Law.

MurmuratingStarling · 10/04/2022 13:53

@DinosaurDuvet

Is this a reverse?
LOL!!!! Grin Picturing fluffy cat bashing away at the keyboard complaining about his unreasonable owner!!!
AIBU or is my cat BU?
loopylindi · 10/04/2022 13:55

ah! don't you just love 'em. We went to great(!) expense buying and fitting a microchip reading cat flap to enable sister and brother to come and go as they please. Only, so they can assert themselves as owners of staff they demand to be let out and in through human doors - even adding, as an aside when exiting....'don't go away I'll be back in a minute so make sure you are there to let me in. If you're not I'll yowl and let the neighbours what useless slaves you are'

lunar1 · 10/04/2022 13:56

Are you confusing yourself with a dog owner? Don't fight your overlord's decree.

oioimatey · 10/04/2022 13:57

Dcat 🤣🤣

Newfluff · 10/04/2022 13:59

Grin

Of course you are, and anyone that has voted YANBU obviously own dogs.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 10/04/2022 13:59

What catz wantz, catz getz. First rule of cat ownership.

Georgeskitchen · 10/04/2022 13:59

Are you serious? Actually serious? A cat is NEVER unreasonable its just NOT in their nature!! Everything they do IS reasonable......no debate 🤣🤣🤣

JackieQueen · 10/04/2022 14:00

You're never gonna win this one op. I think you know the answer really. Grin

TheSnowyOwl · 10/04/2022 14:00

YABU. A cat is never in the wrong.

Beamur · 10/04/2022 14:01

Just move the things off the windowsill to make your job easier. Once you do that it will probably go back to using the door.

Pashazade · 10/04/2022 14:02

You could try reverse psychology and clear the windowsill and make it really easy for you to open the window, if it ceases to be an inconvenience your overlord may change his behaviour (don't bet on it Grin).
