AIBU or is my cat BU?

Dcat has decided it no longer suits His Fluffiness to exit the house through the doors. Instead he wants to come in and out via the living room window. This means I have to stop what I'm doing, open the window and pick up whatever he has knocked off in the process of wriggling out. If I try to guide him through the door, shake food at the door, etc he just sits on the windowsill and screams.
This is new, and very annoying.
Is he BU? Or am I?

@lunar1

Are you confusing yourself with a dog owner? Don't fight your overlord's decree.
Grin

Well that's me told! I will of course apologised to Master Cat when he deigns to return and will henceforth pander to his ridiculous window obsession.

I have a dog, no cats here and even I think yabu, I'm to see you've seen the errors of your ways :-)

DimplesToadfoot · 10/04/2022 14:06

Dang it! I need an edit button lol

I'm glad to see you've seen the error of your ways:-)

Cheeseandlobster · 10/04/2022 14:08

Yabvu . I can't believe how precious you sound. You are here to serve your cat. What sort of servant refuses to do the basics like this? You need to give your head a wobble then apologise to the poor cat.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 10/04/2022 14:09

Cats are never unreasonable.

CythereaGraye · 10/04/2022 14:09

You forgot the rules OP - we need a photo to judge correctly 😹

Cheeseandlobster · 10/04/2022 14:10

Just seen you will be apologising. I hope dcat forgives you in time and that you reflecton your behaviour so this never happens again Grin

LatteLady · 10/04/2022 14:14

OP, this will not end well. Just get into the mindset of opening any door or window when you hear the call... this morning it was at 5:30am. I leapt from my bed, dashed downstairs to let her in and obviously offered the warmest part of the bed.

She is currently on my bed performing her ablutions and allowing me to watch and wonder at her flexibility!

balalake · 10/04/2022 14:16

I hope the cat accepts your apology. I assume the 14% vote was from dog lovers.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/04/2022 14:21

Tell him how much better it is when he uses the window, it suits you better and you are generally delighted by it. He will instantly revert to the door. Grin

iklboo · 10/04/2022 14:28

Obviously you're the unreasonable one. Your Cat Lord is never wrong. Remember your place!

Ikeptgoing · 10/04/2022 14:39

Lol! My Dcats also refuse to use servants entrance (cat flap) except to exit once I have let them through kitchen door to do it all again.

They sit there staring us out like little Sphinx like Egyptian Royalty. It's a game of nerve (which I invariably lose).

Dcat1 has taken to running out the front door then sitting son lounge windowsill putting his paws prints all over all 3 paynes 🐾 (especially if I have just cleaned windows), so that I let him in that window.

I also can't watch TV being stared down and seeing the silent meows as he mouths them.

Such fun...! 😹

Ikeptgoing · 10/04/2022 14:40

Or is it window pane? I can't even spell it!

viques · 10/04/2022 14:42

I don’t even need to read the thread. Yes, you are being unreasonable. It’s his house. You do as you are told.

comfortablyfrumpy · 10/04/2022 15:08

I am in a similar situation, bit with the kitchen window.

Perfectly good (and fecking expensive) catflap is no longer suited to Her Highness. (Though she will use it at night when her slaves are asleep).

Bloody cats!

Damnedalways · 10/04/2022 15:13

Ours are the same op, I've learnt that I'm just here to serve them.
One of mine yowls by the kitchen door then sods off when I open it to let her out. Other times she will go out only to want to come back in 30 seconds later..i swear she waits until I'm sat on the sofa again and only then will she yowl as if she's been sat out there waiting for hours.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 10/04/2022 15:14

We need a picture of your master op

Sockmonkeysloth · 10/04/2022 15:14

Obviously what you need to do is install a cat flap into the window pane. This will ensure he will never deign to go near the window again.

Coord · 10/04/2022 15:21

Mine goes a step further - she has never used the expensive cat flap, she uses the back door and expects me to accompany her for a walk around the garden until she tires of it. Which, obviously, I do.

SalsaLove · 10/04/2022 15:23

@DinosaurDuvet

Is this a reverse?
😂😂😂
Want2beme · 10/04/2022 15:25

Have you thought of employing the services of a window monitor. My DCats tell me this is taking off in cat households worldwideGrin

AIBU or is my cat BU?
YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/04/2022 15:25

19% have voted YANBU Shock

Therewere5inthebed · 10/04/2022 15:26

Do you really need to ask? It’s your duty as a cat slave to do whatever is required. Did you not read the small print..?

One of mine has taken to attempting to push me down the stairs in the morning as I’m obviously not moving fast enough for their liking.
