Price hikes. Why is there nit rioting in the streets?

My electric has risen 10p overnight for actual usage, yet a massive 14p for the daily standing charge. So even if I used no electricity I’m spending 40p a day to just say I have electric. Even if I use none and don’t have heating, lighting or cook. And this will be worse on prepay.

Why is the government doing fuck all and where are the headlines of rioting in the street!.

The government will only offer support when the next election is coming up.

The government would be placed under pressure if there is rioting/civil unrest. They would have to do something about it. I have never rioted in my life and don't intend to start now, but there are lots of people with nothing to lose. It will happen.

Yes quite, one must always seek to accomplish something when you are a person in an absolute rage at the system with nothing to lose and nothing to gain.

I remember the 2010 riots. Really really don’t want to see that again.

People haven't felt the full effects yet. Most are just getting into debt. That can't carry on forever.

I hope there will not be riots, of course, but I would welcome proper demonstrations.

Any time any issue of employment or pay is mentioned on here (or elsewhere), a load of people pop up to say "be careful or you'll get fired" and "you might need a reference" and "I had to work unpaid 9 hours shifts for 5 years before the company finally agreed to start paying me"

We don't do rioting in the UK (hardly ever).

The least you can do is use the vote you have in May, if there are elections in your area.
