Lapland UK queue support thread

So, I was planning on booking Lapland UK tickets today.

I had a work call that overran and I was 13 minutes late for the booking window. I'm now 71,369 in the queue.

I'm not going to get tickets, am I AngryShock

Anyone else in the queue for tickets?

Disclaimer: I know there are FAR FAR more important things to worry about and I should just donate the money I would have spent to charity. I know! But....
@BlankaBanka We got ours, its taken the money but then put us back in a queue, is that right?
We got taken to a booking confirmation page. Did you? With a booking number ok.

BlankaBanka · 21/03/2022 14:47

@Mulhollandmagoo I took a pic of my screen, with the booking ref. I have not received an email yet.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 21/03/2022 14:51

@Firesidefox

Lapland UK is in Bracknell (ish) I think *@WhatATimeToBeAlive*
Confused Oh, I thought it was the real Lapland! Grin

I hope you all get tickets and have the best day ever. My lovely lovely friend worked there for the last few years as 'Santa'. He absolutely loved it.

Ohmych · 21/03/2022 14:53

I managed to get tickets. The queue moved really quickly once it got past 2.30. I'm guessing people need to go on the school run and dropped out of the queue. There were still loads of availability so good luck.

gogohm · 21/03/2022 14:54

Think I will pass, dsd might enjoy it, she has severe lds but think she would prefer Alton towers for that kind of money, might take her for fireworks and Halloween

metellaestinatrio · 21/03/2022 14:54

Well I joined the queue just after 10 and still have 9,000 people ahead of me 🙈! But don’t despair - last year I bought tickets during the last booking window in September and still got a good slot on a weekend at the end of November. You’ll be fine OP.

PrisonerofZeroCovid · 21/03/2022 14:55

I'm now in the queue. No idea why as my youngest child is 10 and has been a Santa sceptic for a number of years.
@DuckyNoMates yes, it's for Christmas

Have we all lost the plot Confused
Yes, I think you have. Big style.

ClawedButler · 21/03/2022 15:11

They have multiple "tours" a day for weeks, you've got a good chance of getting a ticket.

We went a couple of years ago and loved it.

FlorrieFosdyke · 21/03/2022 15:21

You were very lucky @MuddlingThrough1724

@CrochetBug - what a lovely job. Is he an actor? The Father Christmas' look so realistic. It's so magical - even for the grown ups.

Well done t those who have tickets. We are still waiting - 17144 to go but it seems to be going down quicker now. I think you're right @Ohmych, people may have had to go on the school run and be missing out. That doesn't really seem fair Sad

I went last year and there were no queues at all. We had a lovely time & DC loved it.
But at over £500 for a “small family” I wouldn’t go back. But it’s absolutely worth doing it once. So persevere OP.

RussianSpy101 · 21/03/2022 15:22

I’m now 3165 🎉🎉 logged on at 11.30ish

BobbyeinArkansas · 21/03/2022 15:23

Queues to buy tickets, I should clarify. It was busy when we actually went.

NewPapaGuinea · 21/03/2022 15:23

Re: school run. Just put your email address in and get on with it. They email you when it’s your turn and you get 30 minutes to complete the booking.

RussianSpy101 · 21/03/2022 15:28

For hotels, we’re going to book legoland too so hope to do Lapland in the morning and then to legoland for the afternoon, stay in their hotel then the next day in legoland.

It’s about 4 hours from us so easier to do it all in one weekend.

AngelinaFibres · 21/03/2022 15:36
@Peachesandcream15 peak dates (weekends in dec and the week before) are £160-£180 per person

I don't think it's the paying for the child that irks me but potentially paying £180 for an adult is insanity
That is a crazy amount for pretend Lapland....in Bracknell. Surely there must be nice Christmassy things nearer to your homes that don't cost anything like that.

rhowton · 21/03/2022 15:37

I was 67,000 in the queue and I managed to book.

I can imagine that lots of people saw the prices and thought, fuck that, and left the booking page!! I knew how much it was going to be and had psyched myself up and saved for the past year.

FlorrieFosdyke · 21/03/2022 15:41

6439 to go.....

I've got no work done today! I'm self employed and so can't shirk. I'm going to be up all night catching up once the DC are in bed!

@BarbaraofSeville

Is Lapland UK one of those places where there's loads of social media complaints because it's really shit and they paid a fortune to see some fake snow and grumpy elves and the reindeer shit everywhere?
No it’s not really shit at all . My grandchildren loved it .
Emmacb82 · 21/03/2022 15:46

Maybe I’m completely naive but when they sent the price list through yesterday, i assumed that was the total price - not per person!! I was going to look for tickets but if it’s going to cost the same as a weeks holiday there’s no way I can justify it. Why do these things always have to be so expensive 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mulhollandmagoo · 21/03/2022 15:46
@Mulhollandmagoo I took a pic of my screen, with the booking ref. I have not received an email yet.
We didn't get a booking ref Sad but the money has definitely come out, I've just had a goose and it says they can take 2hrs, so will wait and see if it arrives Blush

metellaestinatrio · 21/03/2022 15:50

Well we managed to get tickets from being 51,000 and something in the queue, and a decent time as well (although I have booked for the last weekend in November again as couldn’t stomach the December prices for four of us!). The queue speed really picked up from about half two onwards. Good luck OP!

RussianSpy101 · 21/03/2022 15:50

@Emmacb82 the most expensive ones I spotted on the list were £139. Were a family of 5 so £695. We wouldn’t get a holiday for that!

It is such a good day!

@FlorrieFosdyke you’re so close now!!
