Lapland UK queue support thread

FlorrieFosdyke · 21/03/2022 12:26

So, I was planning on booking Lapland UK tickets today.

I had a work call that overran and I was 13 minutes late for the booking window. I'm now 71,369 in the queue.

I'm not going to get tickets, am I AngryShock

Anyone else in the queue for tickets?

Disclaimer: I know there are FAR FAR more important things to worry about and I should just donate the money I would have spent to charity. I know! But....

@Hiphopopotamus

How much are tickets just out of interest (just so I know whether to try at all! Grin )
It depends what date you want, but as a rough guide, £100 per person (adult or child).

I think it's crazy money but 100,000s disagree so fair enough!

Lockheart · 21/03/2022 14:06

Blimey, whatever happened to just seeing Santa at school / the local garden centre / shopping mall?

Mumofsend · 21/03/2022 14:08

@Peachesandcream15 peak dates (weekends in dec and the week before) are £160-£180 per person

I don't think it's the paying for the child that irks me but potentially paying £180 for an adult is insanity

Mulhollandmagoo · 21/03/2022 14:09

Been on since just before 12 and I'm currently sat with just over 20,000 people in front of me!

NewPapaGuinea · 21/03/2022 14:11

Where are tou getting £160-180 from? Max price is £139

Ragwort · 21/03/2022 14:13

Crazy money - how long is that for? Does it include transport etc?

Agree Lockhurt I am amazed that anyone would pay that much .... everyone is always complaining about the cost of living but then can find the money for these sort of '"experiences''. But we all spend our money differently, I know someone who took her DC to Lapland ... and then complains loudly to anyone who listens if the school ask for a contribution towards an educational trip .. she usually refuses to pay so is subsidised by the PTA - yes, I am being judgmental.

Mulhollandmagoo · 21/03/2022 14:14

£139 is the highest price.....not cheap but definitely not £180

BlankaBanka · 21/03/2022 14:17

DON’T GIVE UP!!

I just managed to get tickets for the day I wanted and only a few dates are showing as sold out! I’m very pleased Grin

Penhaligon · 21/03/2022 14:20

Still 16,000 ahead of me and I've been in the queue since midday! x

isitspringyet23 · 21/03/2022 14:26

I've just got mine too, there is plenty availability still! Only one date had completely sold out and that was 1st December.
Good luck

JudgeJ · 21/03/2022 14:27

John Oliver's programme last week did a section about booking events that was an eye-opener!

BaconAndAvocado · 21/03/2022 14:28

When we took our two, probably about 10 years ago it was £80 each.

It was an absolutely wonderful, flawlessly put-together day which none of us will forget ❤️

Hope everyone gets their tickets.

CMZ2018 · 21/03/2022 14:30

Absolutely mental

Flyinggeese1234 · 21/03/2022 14:32

@BarbaraofSeville

Is Lapland UK one of those places where there's loads of social media complaints because it's really shit and they paid a fortune to see some fake snow and grumpy elves and the reindeer shit everywhere?
@BarbaraofSeville Just Google if you’re not sure. No reason to ask that question on the thread.
NewPapaGuinea · 21/03/2022 14:34

I stand corrected, just got through and the prices advertised are “from”. Some are £179 a person depending on the time.

Inastatus · 21/03/2022 14:36

I agree with baconandavocado - it was a brilliant day out and the Father Christmas was the best I’ve ever seen. The kids really thought they had been to proper Lapland too because the elves take you on a secret, magical pathway that leads there. The kids helped stuff teddies in Santa’s workshop, made cookies with mother Christmas and went ice skating. Lovely memories. Fingers crossed that everyone gets their tickets.

NewPapaGuinea · 21/03/2022 14:36

Perhaps there’s loads left as everyone gets through, sees actually the real cost and tjinks “fuck that”. Cheeky bastards have the nerve to whack on £11.25 booking fee and £6 for postage and packaging.

Meadmaiden · 21/03/2022 14:39

£179 per person per day??! What do you get for this price? I'm shocked

BaconAndAvocado · 21/03/2022 14:40

Inastatus yes the Father Christmas was definitely the best I’d ever seen too.

Mumofsend · 21/03/2022 14:41

@Mulhollandmagoo

£179 is most definitely the highest price. The £139 ones are very awkwardly timed slots
Mulhollandmagoo · 21/03/2022 14:41

@BlankaBanka We got ours, its taken the money but then put us back in a queue, is that right?

MidnightMeltdown · 21/03/2022 14:44

So much for the cost of living crisis! 🤣🤣

MissDollyMix · 21/03/2022 14:44

Ah good luck guys! We went a couple of years ago and it was very magical. For those questioning the cost, think of it as an interactive west-end play experience. It's high end theatre. I think we got off peak tickets that were around £80pp. I wouldn't spend that again but it was worth it as a one-off.

elephantmarchingin · 21/03/2022 14:45

What sort of age do you recommend for this? We've been offered tickets as a Christmas gift from both sets of grandparents and have heard really good things but DS will be 3 1/2 by that point

ThatDreamSheep · 21/03/2022 14:45

I'm 51802.. Logged in at about half 12!
