DH wrecked my hair but apparently can't get annoyed

Because he was doing me a favour and now I have black splotches around my roots :(

What happened?

I assume you had him dye it? Not sure how you can be annoyed unless he's a hairdresser?

I'd hazard a guess that YANBU to be annoyed by shitty hair but YABU to put the blame on him

No he was bleaching my roots, he's done it before and always says it's a lot like his day job. But he missed a huge section around my right ear and a bit around my temple and around my sideburns. I did have a hunch it was a bit messy (but didn't check) because he reassured me he did a decent job.

God I wouldn’t let DH anywhere near my head with hair dye! Can understand being annoyed with situation but probably not his fault

Why did you ask your husband, who has no business bleaching hair, to bleach your hair?

If he missed bits surely you just get more bleach / dye and do those bits?

Can you buy some more bleach and do the bits he missed? It doesn’t sound like an insurmountable problem…

If I asked my unqualified friend to service my gas boiler and my house blew up I would have no one else to blame but myself for asking someone unqualified to do a job that needs qualifications!

I wouldn’t let my DH anywhere near my hair with either dye or scissors…that’s what hairdressers are for!

Well he hasn’t wrecked your hair has he? He’s not a professional, doing you a favour and he missed a bit.

Do it again or go to the salon!

Salons never want to touch my hair and take it to the level I like... It's just that it's more as such a difficult spot to miss

If he tried his best, you can be upset but not annoyed with him. Is he willing to try to put it right? Getting it right previously may have been more luck than skill perhaps?

I bleach my roots too. DP did it for me for years and it looked amazing. About two years ago we had a complete disaster 🤣🤣he was actually close to tears when he saw it he felt that bad. I wasn’t annoyed, I know he did his best and I went to the hairdresser who fixed it.

Depending on his level of sympathy I’d say cut him some slack.

Well I get it’s annoying but yes you wouldn’t be very nice to be annoyed with him given that he is not a pro and was in fact doing you a favour.

Curious as to what his day job is that is similar but not hairdressing!! Painter of some sort? Or dog groomer?
