Your sideburns? 😆

Onlyrainbows · 20/03/2022 20:53

I've also had that it wouldn't suit me... I had that from the hairdresser who gave me a haircut in December.

Bit rude of them. Especially as it does!
Labracadabradoodle · 20/03/2022 21:06

Those pesky boat detailers and their lack of hairdressing skills eh?

I had surgery... I was in the hospital for 5 days. I was on the most powerful pain medicine created.
I ( nor anyone else didn't) comb my hair the entire time. It was long and was so matted... couldn't go to hairdresser. I screamed laying down in tub while my husband put conditioner on it. Then more spray in conditioner.

I got on youtube to find out how to fix this hot mess...take one strand at a time to untangle. It may take hours or days... Showed my husband the video. Good..

He got a tool that he untangles his fishing line with..good..

He said..." Oh it's coming along...I almost have it...He said " Close your eyes and open up your hands. "

He then laid a big mess ( BIG) mess of matted hair in my hands grinning. He was so proud to fix it! The tool he had also had scissors and he just cut the back of my entire head out... I couldn't react..I was so shocked...I just said ( I never cry over spilled milk)

Gee thanks a lot honey. That was really fast! He just beamed while I imploded inside.. and laughed all night about it... ( There was NOTHING I could do at that point!)

OP be glad that you didn't have MY husband fix it

MrsWinters · 20/03/2022 21:20

Your fault for letting him do it

PiperPosey · 20/03/2022 21:21

You can see on my hair where after all that conditioning it still looked like matted dreadlocks.

Onlyrainbows · 20/03/2022 21:22

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Piper I definitely cried and cried today because I thought my hair was wrecked .. but thanks to the hair gods it turned out OK!

hahahhaa... I couldn't drive for 4 months ( had a colon resection). I don't know one person where we live and we are out in the boondocks.

My husband was so confident. We got this honey!

When I finally could go to the hairdressers I told her the story and showed her the back of my head. ( I think after her shock she's still laughing!)

She trimmed everything, but she said well, maybe if we tease your bangs you can flip it over like a comb over! Thank God I wear a ponytail most of the time. ( A very, very, very thin one) Grin

Longdistance · 20/03/2022 21:31

I wouldn’t let my dh run a tap, let alone dye my hair Confused my db on the other hand, different kettle of fish, he’d do a good job.

Regularsizedrudy · 20/03/2022 21:34

I’m so confused by this thread. Why were you crying!? Why didn’t you just touch it up straight away? It would take ten mins. The fact it was such a big spot actually makes it easier to correct without overlapping on to your already (extremely compromised!) bleached hair

Does seem a bit extreme to be crying and crying Confused
Macaroni1924 · 20/03/2022 21:42

Seriously? Not exactly difficult to fix and he was doing you a favour by helping. He made a mistake, he’s not a hairdresser the world hasn’t ended. Apologise for overreacting and ask can he help u fix it.

DuckyNoMates · 20/03/2022 21:42

Oh I see it is you sorry missed that bit. Glad you fixed it.

Nanny0gg · 20/03/2022 22:15

@Onlyrainbows

It's only cause I posted a photo on the website and I can't on the app, so it was with one of my older usernames. And yes, no hairdresser likes to touch my hair because they claim I don't suit being blonde!
I don't think it's that.

I think it's because you'd have to have it cut short to get rid of the damage. And then when it grew to a decent condition have it lighter but not as blonde.

And that's not what you want.

mathanxiety · 21/03/2022 01:09

If he was happy with the thanks and praise you gave him last time then he should also be able to accept the criticism this time.

FlissyPaps · 21/03/2022 01:52

Honey pleeease find a nicer hairdresser! It’s not up to them to dictate what will suit you or not.

They should only turn you away from having bleach is when your hair is in bad condition and isn’t suitable for more bleach. Even then they would most likely do a colour correction and treatment on it with professional products.

I wouldn’t ask your DH to do it again if you’re disappointed with the outcome. YABU if he’s not a qualified hairdresser/colourist.

Either do it yourself next time or find a decent hairdresser that’s willing to take on a bleach job.

DuckyNoMates · 21/03/2022 06:04

I agree a nicer hairdresser would work with you to get the sort of look you like whilst also protecting your hair.

You MUST weigh in here![/quote]
Now we both know I am a expert decorator but I have never yet "decorated' a boat and dying hair ?

The closest I ever got to that is spraying on that stuff that's supposed to make your hair lighter when you go in the sun .
I have ( or had ) very dark brown hair , but wanted to be blond as a kid , that was never gona happen.

@Onlyrainbows
I realise it's your own hair and you can do whatever you like with it but I'm a little surprised when experts and said don't do it you've gone ahead and done it anyway and then complain about the resultsConfused

Sweetpea1532 · 21/03/2022 20:54

@NewYearCalavicci
That spray was called 'Sun-In'😂
Didn't most of us want to be California blondes back in the day? Oh and @AnneKipankitoo knows quite a bit about how to fix blonding mistakes...I should knowGrin
@Onlyrainbows
I love your hair both colours. You are very pretty with either.
My auntie has done her hair level 11 for over 70 years...she and her hair are STILL going strong at 85 years old. Her natural hair is as dark as yours.Wine

@PiperPosey...your DH is adorable and so are you even with a huge bald spot...as my dear mum always says, ' put a smile on your face and no-one will notice"Wink
