Partner cheating

My partner is at the pub with friends tonight watching the rugby. I’m not a jealous person so this was fine, sport is not my thing. I’ve just received a WhatsApp from a friend telling me that my partner is cheating. It’s someone who has no reason to lie. I’ve gone into full rage mode! What the actual fuck!

Why do people think that someone needs “proof” of a third party’s claim.

Because surely you're not going to throw away years of your life and a relationship on nothing more than someone else's say-so? Without even asking the accused person if it's true or not? Without letting the accused person even know they've been accused?! People have said they would change the locks based on nothing more than a text message! That is ridiculous. How would you react if you came home to discover you'd been locked out if your house?

I agree. Drives me mental when people say that the second you have the slightest suspicion that they’re not 100% genuine then they should just write the entire relationship off.

Talk to him in the morning? I'd be down the pub right now to see if he's actually there and who with! Just for a sneaky peak, I'd not make a scene. If not there, id text him and ask where he is. If he says 'down the pub' then you know he's lying.

I'd also not talk to him about it and give him a chance to delete evidence. I'd have a sneaky peak through his phone while he was drunkenly sleeping.

I'd also phone back the person who told me about the affair for more info.

But maybe I'm crazy 😂

100% agree, get evidence yourself first. Follow him-check he is in the pub and with whom, is he where he says he is? Phone the woman who sent the accusatory text for more info. If you confront him now without evidence first, he sounds like the type to deny it without flinching. Besides, talking to him first will only make him cover his tracks better, so you can't find evidence easily...if he is guilty. Then plan next course of action, once evidence or lack thereof arrives.

@Dita73 People have lives. She may be traumatised, she may be travelling, she may be working, she may be seeking solace with family/friends. They don't owe you to perform when you ask. Funny that isn't it?
