Vegan as the default. Specifically slightly annoyed with the McPlant

I'm not vegan, I'm vegetarian.

I want a McPlant with proper (if American cheese slices can be called proper) cheese.

I would like to order a Big Mac, and sub out the burgers for the plant burgers!

Surely there are more people like me?

Vegan options being the default for vegans and vegetarians is very annoying. AIBU?

(No this isn't all I have to worry about in life before someone says it.)

I’m a vegetarian and find this a bummer too. However, I still think YABU. Truth is we should all be vegans really. Maybe this will be the push I need..

Yeah that would be fantastic for the NHS Hmm

Sarcasm incase you missed it

@streamee - Confused This is a confused face, it's my confused face, because I'm confused as to why you don't just ask for regular cheese, so when you say "Confused yourself" I already am confused Grin (This is a laughing face).

Although, another poster did say McDonalds weren't supposed to do this. So maybe you've been refused. Two of my DC work at McDonalds and say they'd happily do it at the store they're at. If DS places an order when he knows DD is working he makes the order really difficult just to annoy her. They get to know certain customers who like certain orders.

I'm now going to have to have a McPlant to see what they're like. I might ask them to hold the cheese though, as I've rarely had a good experience with vegan cheese, or maybe I'll test whether they'll happily swap it out.

When I went to Berlin about 4 years ago I noticed it was easy to get vegan food, or lots of meat, but not so easy to get vegetarian, who h would usually be my go to.

I do get where you're coming from with the often only being vegan or meat choices (I see this a lot in the meal deal area of supermarkets) but in McDonalds, I'd just ask for regular cheese, just like people ask them to hold the gherkins.
