would your DS join up

Hypothetical but if you have a DS aged 16-25 would they join up in the event of the government requesting volunteers to go and fight in Ukraine. If they did would you try and stop them. I have hear stories about so many young men in Ukraine volunteering and it got me wondering what would young British men do?

Not sure what exactly you're angry about. Someone asked a speculative question and people answered it.

@MadMadMadamMim

Has anyone personally asked your precious to join ? No? Just be thankful you didn't have to leave your precious behind like some Ukrainian mothers had to what a stupid comment.

I think you've missed the point of the OP in your self righteous indignation! The question was would your DS join up to fight in Ukraine if asked by the government? I was answering the OP. HTH.

But has anyone asked him to join ? By the sounds of it he would be no good anyway

It's very insensitive of you all as there are mothers out there who's children are fighting for real in Ukraine. Yet here you all are saying what you would or wouldn't do.

They have asked for VOLUNTEERS not everyone. So calm down no ones Akers your child personally

@herehere22

No one's said that they have been asked.
People are speculating about how they'd react were the conflict to expand and NATO get involved.

You're telling people to calm down while in a state of self-righteous fury about someone asking a hypothetical question on the internet.

I get that but I feel that it's very insensitive of people writing how they wouldn't send their precious DS or DD whilst mothers from Ukraine had pretty much no choice.
If they came across this thread ... it might make them feel a certain way.
doubt anyone will FORCE anyone from the uk to go fight over there. They have asked for VOLUNTEERS so far

herehere22 · 27/02/2022 19:18

And even if worse came to worse do people on this thread really think that it would be mummy's decision wether their loved ones have to take part or not? Very much doubt it

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 27/02/2022 22:09

Yes it is hypothetical. Fine. Some of the responses are tone deaf though. Not fineHmm

I'd say yours is one of them, I'm afraid. I think you missed the key entirely.

If you honestly think there are no offensive responses on this thread that's fair enough. I personally don't think the op intended people to make stupid remarks about their child being too smart or their child won't be murders....but yeah I'm the tone deaf oneHmm
