I tend towards slatternity so I didn't realise this was A Thing Shock

Luckily it's only high days and holidays nowadays, so it's not as though Id be ploughing through the Bold on Bed sheets. Wink

It's this another MN requirement where I come up wanting?

YABU: wash em straight away you grim creature.

YANBU: Meh, wash Em on the normal processing time, no need to rush.

@daisyjgrey

This is MN, someone will be along in a minute to say that they put a strip the bed, put a special mattress protector and designated bedding on, do the deed and then strip it all off and put a fresh one on, every time. And anything less is the epitome of "grim".
Don't forget the shower for each participant before AND after
busyeatingbiscuits · 23/02/2022 08:40

If there’s a wet patch we change the sheets as often have children get in and personally I would not like to sleep in spunky sheets.
However it is not frequent enough to disrupt my normal sheet-changing routine.

Franticbutterfly · 23/02/2022 08:43

Surely people don't wash their bed sheets every day?

heidihigh · 23/02/2022 08:43

Squirrels has proper set me off. Love this thread. And no, I don't Grin

UndertheCedartree · 23/02/2022 08:48

Gosh no! Don't need that kind of extra washing!

ChampagneLassie · 23/02/2022 08:49

Back in the day of sex all the time we did change sheets pretty regularly, now sadly weekly bedding change seems more frequent than sex 😕

Pyewhacket · 23/02/2022 08:50

Bed linen gets changed once a week so in effect , yes.

cultkid · 23/02/2022 08:50

No 🤣🤣

Otherwise I would have to change it a few times a week

We are always clean when we go to sleep or have sex

ChikaCherryCola · 23/02/2022 08:51

No, use a towel, although sex is yet to feature in 2022 for us 😂

😲"

(Couldn't do a proper quote for some reason)

Why the shocked face? Is that some kind of jusgement about how often other people have sex?

SharyBobbins · 23/02/2022 08:51

@jamandmarmaladeoncrumpets

So in bedrooms across the land, whilst the rest of us sprawl in sticky post-coital glow or arid sex-free desert ... some Mumsnetters are leaping up, stripping the bedlinen, putting on the washing machine, remaking the bed with sheets unsullied, then getting back in to snuggle and sleep? After a quick bath in Dettol, just to be sure?

I'm with the sheets changed more often than sex folks 🤣

coffeecup88 · 23/02/2022 08:54

Teehee love this thread.

It's a No from me and the sex towel only for messy times of the month 👍

Gonnagetgoing · 23/02/2022 08:57

sheet maybe - bed linen no.

satelliteheart · 23/02/2022 08:59

Agree with all pp re. not understanding this excessive fluid you're all talking about. We keep a box of tissues on the bedside table and grab one as we "disengage" to deal with any immediate spillage. Then I always head to the bathroom for a quick wee which deals with anything else. If there is anything on the sheets it's a tiny amount, quick wipe with a tissue and back into bed. I have two young kids who are up early, no way am I faffing about in the middle of the night stripping beds

Also those talking about their kids getting "soaking wet legs", surely it's dry by the morning? How long are your sheets wet for that your kids would get wet legs the next day?! Or are your kids coming into your bed immediately after the act? My kids don't come into my bedroom so it's not a problem I ever face

hanketypankety · 23/02/2022 09:00

Environmental health would come knocking if I waited that long Confused

Needmoresleep · 23/02/2022 09:01

If you see bedsheets drying on your neighbours line every day...well now you know.

PotatoGoblins · 23/02/2022 09:01

My sheets get washed way more than I have sex in my own bed!!
Any extra-curriculars happen at my Bf’s house when I don’t have my kids. Maybe I should ask him about his sheet washing habits Confused

Allsorts1 · 23/02/2022 09:07

I’m worried I’m having sex wrong now as don’t have any “spills”! I actually have mild functioning OCD and do things like clean my feet before bed but have never thought to change sheets after sex! Just wash once a week.

Shodan · 23/02/2022 09:08

Never mind the sheets- I've had to change the stair carpet twice in the last year.

Sex is very expensive.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 23/02/2022 09:08

Does anyone wonder if the rising cost of electricity will put the puritans of their endless cycle of sex laundry?

Allsorts1 · 23/02/2022 09:09

@Stravaig 😂😂😂 @SmallPrawnEnergy mean! 😱

2021s · 23/02/2022 09:15

Tarpaulin does the trick

Tigersonvaseline · 23/02/2022 09:15

Work I agree.

We have a normal mattress protector, and a feather mattress topper..for just general life.

How much liquid is expressed to need " water proof mattress toppers" Shock

JellybabyGina87 · 23/02/2022 09:15

No. But I change once or twice a week anyway.
