What is expensive but worth every penny?

Following on from the previous thread about expensive purchases that weren't worth it, what is expensive but actually is worth it? What do you own or have done that is very expensive but you don't regret it at all?

18 year old Macallan.

My dad gave me a bottle for my 30th. I rarely drink whisky now, as anything I can afford tastes rubbish compared to that.

ViSpring Luxe mattress.
Was (way) over our original budget for a mattress but SO glad we invested! 8 years in and still perfect. When it’s time for a new one I will absolutely get another ViSpring 👍

My tattoo's.... Best value for money ever! Be with me until I die! (and yes...... I love them and dont give a shit what people will think when I'm wrinkled with them!.... Every single one has its own personal meaning.... For me! Nobody else! ) 👌👌👌

kittensinthekitchen · 12/02/2022 22:19

Getting my hair done every 4 weeks.

My hairdresser is cheaper than some I read about, but it still feels extravagant for me.

EveningOverRooftops · 12/02/2022 22:23

Yarn. Wool, merino, silk, whatever natural fibre blend it is always worth spending a bit more on something that feels amazing.

Art supplies. There’s a world of difference between the pigment in student quality and artists/professional quality paint, pencils etc.

Paper.

Shoes and boots.

Every other consumable a budget or lower cost item you can get away with without noticing much of a difference.

Flutterby8 · 12/02/2022 22:23

Our honeymoon which somehow cost about the same as the wedding 😳
Absolutely worth every penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Not exactly bought but my newborn baby. Expensive but cannot imagine life without her now. I havent once gulped at spending money on things for her whereas i would do for anything else!
