Following on from the previous thread about expensive purchases that weren't worth it, what is expensive but actually is worth it? What do you own or have done that is very expensive but you don't regret it at all?

Sony noise cancelling headphones

High end, all bells and whistles lenses for my glasses

Flying to see my family this past Christmas spent less on a week in NYC before, but seeing my family was worth every single penny.

My bean to cup coffee machine

@NFLwidow I love it. You need two treatments, four weeks apart for the full effect. Your skin feels bouncy and full and so hydrated. It just looks better. Any fine lines and loss of laxity is massively improved, too. It’s punchy but I’ll be having biennial top ups.

@ Mum2jenny

We are looking into Stressless furniture. Is it really worth it? I have only sat on them in a showroom. We have just sent 2 new Sofolgy sofas back because they started sagging after a couple of days and were unbelievably uncomfortable.

Ergobaby omni 360. Daughter is 2 next month and I've used it every single day of her lovely little life so far.

Candles (there's a few expensive brands I like!)
Perfume. Love cheap ones too but my faves are ££
Expensive for me - M&S comfortably cool bedding. I take medication which makes me sweat and then shiver and this is utter bliss and feels cold to the touch
Ariat grasmere boots (had them 12 years)
Sonia G makeup brushes
Silk pillowcase

MuffinStrops · 12/02/2022 23:40

Love that so many people say their dog!

Super king bed for me. Don’t know why I waited so long..
Fly boots. I’ve had them years and worn them so much.

ThePlumVan · 12/02/2022 23:40

Full livery for my horse so I can spend my free time actually riding the thing.

Ugg boots still going strong after 12 years and so comfy.

Hypnos mattresses and high thread Egyptian cotton for the best nights sleep.

Apple products because they just make sense.

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:40

Grass fed beef
Latex mattress

Elskerdeg · 12/02/2022 23:40

@Draineddraineddrained
Darn Tough socks come with a lifetime guarantee. My husband's feet eat socks daily and they haven't managed to ruin these. He's had them for a few years now. They do women's as well.

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:41

*king size

MuffinStrops · 12/02/2022 23:41

@AutomaticMoon

weegiemum · 12/02/2022 23:42

Our 25th anniversary trip to the ice hotel I Sweden. Was amazing.

The dog

Saving up for really nice meals out rather than going to somewhere mediocre.

Luxury memory foam mattress topper.

Ordering wine we really like online rather than the usual supermarket stuff - yes I can taste the difference!

Paying to support our children through their higher education. It's expensive but worth every penny!

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:42

@MuffinStrops I got a Dunlopillo after much hand wringing.

Furries · 12/02/2022 23:44

My two cats - worth every penny (sadly only one now)
Not super expensive, but my heated fur throw - I love it.
My house - had lots go wrong, but it’s my home and I love it here
Decent paint for all decorating (Little Greene Paint Co) - won’t use anything else now

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:44

@MuffinStrops I also saw some tempting ones that were made of wool and cotton and silk, no plastics or foams.

Saracen · 12/02/2022 23:44

University. I'd hated school, but uni was a very different experience. I liked it so much I did two undergraduate degrees! Neither was of much use for the jobs I later had, but that wasn't why I went. I just wanted to learn. What a buzz.

I worked 20-30 hours a week during uni and then had big loans to pay off afterward, but I don't regret it at all.

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:45

@Furries Which heated throw, please? I’m in the market for one

HerMajestyTheQuern · 12/02/2022 23:46

Kitchenaid Stand mixer. Built like a tank, used a couple of times a week for over 10 years now and will be around when I’m long gone.

AutomaticMoon · 12/02/2022 23:47

Toe socks, I can’t be without them now, stops my toe rubbing together and getting clammy all the time (autism/sensory processing disorder)
