Not to want "OUTSTANDING CLITORAL STIMULATION" at the top of every page on here?

Yes, Mumsnet has to make money.

Yes, orgasms are great.

But AIBU to be slightly uncomfortable with seeing "Outstanding clitoral stimulation.” Best sex toys from Ann Summers to heat things up this winter at the top of every damn page? Pretty sure threads from the Sex topic don't appear in Active Convos so why is this OK? I don't need to see it every single time. Sometimes I just want to have a quick look for parking threads and CF drama without having to scroll past "Outstanding clitoral stimulation.” Best sex toys from Ann Summers to heat things up this winter. It's unnecessarily explicit.

Someone did complain back in October, but MN never came back with a proper response.

AIBU or should I accept the constant presence of "Outstanding clitoral stimulation.” Best sex toys from Ann Summers to heat things up this winter. ?

I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve never noticed! Am I the inly one??

No. Didn’t notice it til this thread. I automatically scroll down on my phone when MN loads so didn’t see or notice it.

Aspiringmatriarch · 07/02/2022 11:11

Agreed, it's very annoying. I clicked on it once by accident.

ForestDad · 07/02/2022 11:13

I don't even have a clitoris. I feel left out. Possibly triggering.

Cinnamonhazelnut · 07/02/2022 11:18

Judging by some of these responses, I think some of you need some bloody outstanding clitorial stimulation so you can chill TF out!!!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 07/02/2022 11:19

Outstanding coriander stimulation

They do teach you about dill, though.

Juniper68 · 07/02/2022 11:20

@Im2022

Aside from the irony of this post…yes, it’s annoying. I think you can hide the thread so it doesn’t appear at the top anymore.

Just glad I'm Mumsnetting while in a work Teams not F2F meeting.

MorningStarling · 07/02/2022 11:23

I seem to have a filter in my brain that just ignores the sticky threads at the top of the list, but looking at them now I don't think any of them are offensive or inappropriate.

I'm not likely to click on any of them because they're not things I'm interested in or support, but it doesn't bother or harm me that they're there.

I agree but this made me laugh thanks 😂
I guess it must be due to Valentines @TheOccupier

I expect we need a good shagging too. To shut us up.

I thought it was a quote from Alan Partridge!

@HorseInTheHouse

How do you think people become parents?!

Well it's not by wanking.

I have some absolutely wild news for you about the involvement of clitoral stimulation during sex with a partner.

Me either. I don’t get the issue. It’s likely going to be gone and changed to something else after Valentine’s Day. I know I’ve already eyerolled the onslaught of emails and ads about Valentines Day however I am looking forward to the numerous threads about how some spouses somehow forgot about the holiday despite itx

IncompleteSenten · 07/02/2022 11:41

I'm pig sick of it too.

HelloFrostyMorning · 07/02/2022 11:43

Weirdly, I hate seeing this too @TheOccupier I even looked to see if I can hide it, and I can't (seemingly!)

I have NO idea why it annoys me. Confused

AlwaysLatte · 07/02/2022 11:44

I hadn't seen it till you put it up there 😂

Yes, sex is one of life's great pleasures and the good thing is it's absolutely free and you don't need to buy anything!

Zazdar · 07/02/2022 11:49

That it isn’t necessary to get pregnant?

Tiltawhirl · 07/02/2022 11:53

Hate it too

AdobeWanKenobi · 07/02/2022 11:59

@Beefcurtains79

It’s so fucking tawdry.
Ahh, delicious irony.
MsAgnesDiPesto · 07/02/2022 12:07
@MsAgnesDiPesto - are you clicking on the correct arrow? It's not the one next to the word 'Talk' on the blue bar, it's the one next to the larger blue-on-white word 'Talk' underneath that, just above where it says Active| I'm On
Oh yes, I am clicking in the right place. These are the options I get.

Any ideas?

housemaus · 07/02/2022 12:21

@Viviennemary

I hate it. Really offensive to a lot of women IMHO. I clicked on it. Absolutely vile.
Forgive me if I'm being thick, but why would the concept of clitorial stimulation be offensive?

Actually an orgasm is extremely helpful in conception. But you're also being deliberately obtuse. Becoming a parent relies on having sex, having sex isn't bad or wrong or dirty, lots of women don't realise that needing clitoral stimulation is commonly essential to orgasm. The pearl clutching on this thread is bonkers, and part of the reason that so many women have such fundamentally unsatisfactory sex lives.
