What the title says.

This will be the one where he resigns, so if please keep the whatabout to a minimum.

@Notonthestairs

I thought he was lecturing about the PM breaking his own legislation and in covering it up effectively shredding the integrity of the government and undermining their very purpose. Not sure what is hilarious about that.
The hilarity comes in the people and posters trying to justify that behaviour. This afternoon's efforts have been particularly comic.

@UnconditionalSurrender

Sadly it doesn't really matter that the UK delegation to Russia are unprepared and useless, because Johnson and co have degraded us to a 3rd tier status country, at best. No-one cares what we have to say even if they had anyone capable of saying it.
Yes, Macron had a 5 hour face to face meeting with Putin, Johnson had a phone call.
SueSaid · 10/02/2022 13:53

'Sergey Lavrov has just briskly walked off, leaving trussliz on her own at the podium. He said talking to her was ‘like talking to a deaf person’ & said what Russia does in its own territory is ‘not her business.’

What?? Russian diplomat rude and unhelpful? Who knew. I thought the Russians were known for being polite team players!

BoodyDedalus · 10/02/2022 13:57

FatFredsFriedEgg:
He's gone to NATO in Brussels hasn't he? Is he popping in to see the EU as well?

My mistake, I just heard "Brussels" on the radio this morning and wrongly assumed he'd gone to pester the EU. You are right that it was NATO.

Peregrina · 10/02/2022 13:58

Liz Truss and Johnson up against ex KGB man Putin. Now that is my idea of a joke, and it's not on Putin.

We have a desperate need for a statesman or woman, not waffle waffle piffle, cheese, waffle, waffle.

DuncinToffee · 10/02/2022 13:59

Lavrov is known for being difficult. But it is not a good look for Global Britain.

Johnson and his government are damaging the UK's international reputation.

SueSaid · 10/02/2022 14:00

'Liz Truss and Johnson up against ex KGB man Putin. Now that is my idea of a joke, and it's not on Putin'

Omg. 'Ex KGB man Putin'. You sound full of admiration Confused

DuncinToffee · 10/02/2022 14:01

Johnson has now travelled to Poland.

BoodyDedalus · 10/02/2022 14:02

@JaniieJones

'That is absolutely risible!'

I know! I just cannot believe that anyone is giving anything that John Major has to say any credibility Grin.

Well, Major says that Johnson "broke lockdown laws" - as if the entire nation is not already aware of that. Poor old John Major was never the brightest in the pack - he only managed 3 O-levels and never even started on an A-level at his Grammar School.
ClaudineClare · 10/02/2022 14:03

@Notonthestairs

I think damning Major on the grounds of his affair is quite amusing given the proclivities of our current PM. Some people seem to have very flexible standards.

Personally I'd take leadership from John Major over Johnson any day of the week.

This.

Some on this thread are running out of barrels to scrape.

ClaudineClare · 10/02/2022 14:05

Would you like a spoon to help you with the scraping?

Notonthestairs · 10/02/2022 14:11

Well that's flushed out an interesting take. I think I see your posts a bit more clearly now Boody.
Judging achievements based on 50/60 year old school grades. I guess that makes Raab a genius.

TheABC · 10/02/2022 14:16

@DuncinToffee

Johnson has now travelled to Poland.
Does he have to come back?
DuncinToffee · 10/02/2022 14:18

We stopped FOM, so sadly yes.

longwayoff · 10/02/2022 14:46

was never the brightest in the pack so how was your term as PM @JaniieJones? Would you care to impress us with your list of stunning achievements that outstrip his?

Peregrina · 10/02/2022 14:51

Omg. 'Ex KGB man Putin'. You sound full of admiration

A very cheap slur, but increasingly par for the course for this poster. But just a fact - a lightweight like Truss up against someone who was part of the KGB.

Peregrina · 10/02/2022 14:54

Poor old John Major was never the brightest in the pack - he only managed 3 O-levels and never even started on an A-level at his Grammar School.

There were plenty of people of his generation who were only so-so at school, but proved their worth as adults.

Meanwhile, Johnson with his expensive education and Oxford degree can only manage cheap schoolboy jokes.

AuldAlliance · 10/02/2022 14:54

John Major never shone as a mighty intellectual, that's for sure. But given the current Cabinet, the less said about anyone's intellectual prowess, the better. And the same goes for politicians' morals and ethics.

It is entirely possible to observe that Liz Truss won't be able to hold her own against a former KGB member without that being an expression of admiration or approval of the KGB. Hmm

The hail of hazelnuts is quite something on here...

ClaudineClare · 10/02/2022 14:58

@longwayoff

I think it was BoodyDedalus who dealt that low blow, not janiiejones but they are mostly singing from the same playbook.

Everything is very depressing, what is going to happen to us all, stuck with a shower of charlatans in charge? How are we going to get through the cost of living crisis?

But I suppose we should look on the bright side! The population of England will soon be free to spread covid infection all over the place.

ClaudineClare · 10/02/2022 15:03

The hail of hazelnuts is quite something on here...

That reminds me of a very old joke, based on a TV advert for Topic.

What has a hazelnut in every bite?

Squirrel shit!

DuncinToffee · 10/02/2022 15:07

It says a lot that the only way to bash Major's speech is mentioning his affair or o-levels.
He has rattles some cages for sure.

jgw1 · 10/02/2022 15:07

@BoodyDedalus

So I understand that to be at a party one has to be there for longer than 25minutes. If one is having an affair it only is bad if it is 5 years long.
Can you clarify for me how many o-levels one needs to have before ones achievements can be respected?

Oh no sorry you misunderstand.

He hasn't rattled my cage at all, just he's so irrelevant. Someone infamous for having an affair with Currie rather than any acheivments. He needs get back in his box tbh.

SueSaid · 10/02/2022 15:28

'So I understand that to be at a party one has to be there for longer than 25minutes'

No but it needs to be a party. A party. 3 people and a laptop isn't a party. A few people in an office at work isn't a party.

God, watching Beth Rigby on sky news 'interviewing' the PM is just cringeworthy.

HarrietPierce · 10/02/2022 15:30

"he's so irrelevant. Someone infamous for having an affair with Currie rather than any acheivments. He needs get back in his box tbh."

It's achIEvements.
