Liz is fucking it up in Russia. Turns out cosplaying Margaret Thatcher isn't actually the job. Who'd have thunk it.
What a shower of narcissistic, talentless, incompetent loons.

Alexandra2001 · 10/02/2022 12:48

@JaniieJones

'That is absolutely risible!'

I know! I just cannot believe that anyone is giving anything that John Major has to say any credibility Grin.

@JaniieJones

Its brilliant that you apply such strong moral standards to John Major but do you equally apply such standards to other former and current Prime Ministers?

StormzyinaTCup · 10/02/2022 12:48

Was he talking about his 5year affair with Edwina Currie?

Anyone who saw her speech on Cheese exports cannot be surprised at her incompetence, she seems to think that deepening her voice, pausing for effect and looking serious makes up for her complete lack of ability.

I do seriously believe Gavin Williamson had more talent than Liz Truss & that is a very low bar.

This is brilliant, so many posters have such hi moral standards.....
DuncinToffee · 10/02/2022 12:54

Has she mixed up her seas again?

Can’t you? I’d have thought the architect of the massively significant N Ireland peace agreement has huge credibility.

Is it breaking the law? If so, Johnson ought to watch his step with untold number of adulterous affairs. His second wife was pregnant while still married to his first. When married to his second he then had a child who he barely acknowledges, and then we have affairs like that with Jennifer Arcuri while still married. Wilfred was conceived before he sorted out his second divorce.

Its the duration that is important, not the frequency or number of children. Please do try and keep up!

Major - worked to stop a civil war and prevent death and injury as one of the architects of the Good Friday Agreement Johnson - let the bodies pile high, operation last gasp.

John Major's behaviour is a million times more credible than any weak arguments presented by you to excuse Boris Johnson's lying, cheating behaviour and being a disgrace to the office of PM.

SueSaid · 10/02/2022 13:03

'John Major's behaviour is a million times more credible'

Oh I just can't even. I mean really you've excelled yourselves now Grin.

Alexandra2001 · 10/02/2022 13:06

@Peregrina Thing is, though it can be argued a man who cheats on his wife cannot be trusted but that should equally apply to all cheaters, including Boris Johnson but for some posters that doesn't seem to be the case.

DePfeffoff · 10/02/2022 13:06

@JaniieJones, when do you allege that Major was sending ministers out to defend his affair, dreaming up brazen excuses for it, or asking the public day after day to believe the unbelievable?

Blossomtoes · 10/02/2022 13:07

@JaniieJones

Oddly, most of us think you’ve jumped the shark now.
Notonthestairs · 10/02/2022 13:07

I think damning Major on the grounds of his affair is quite amusing given the proclivities of our current PM. Some people seem to have very flexible standards.

Personally I'd take leadership from John Major over Johnson any day of the week.

Peregrina · 10/02/2022 13:08

I am sorry for you Janiie Jones if you think that working hard to bring an end to a 30 year civil war, with the attendant loss of life and injury, isn't an important achievement.

But lying cheating, spaffing taxpayers money up the wall is a worthwhile achievement.

Alexandra2001 · 10/02/2022 13:09

@DePfeffoff You'll be waiting a long time for any poster to apply the same standards to Bozo as they do to Major.... doesn't suit the Tory HQ narrative.

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/02/2022 13:18

Major has evolved into an impressive statesman, imo.

I confidently predict that the same will never be said of Johnson.

I just read this thread about her visit Shock twitter.com/ej_burrows/status/1491707451179208707?s=21
Blossomtoes · 10/02/2022 13:22

This presser has not gone well. Sergey Lavrov has just briskly walked off, leaving @trussliz on her own at the podium. He said talking to her was ‘like talking to a deaf person’ & said what Russia does in its own territory is ‘not her business.’ She’s now got lunch with him…

Awkward!

SueSaid · 10/02/2022 13:22

'I think damning Major on the grounds of his affair'

Oh no sorry you misunderstand. I'm not damning him per se I'm sure he did some good things including signing the Downing Street Declaration, reinvigorating the Northern Ireland peace process ( note 'reinvigorating' , I believe it was Tone who actually pulled it off)

My point was to stand with a straight face lecturing about morals and brazen excuses would seem hilarious. I mean it is everywhere else I've looked it's only here and a few lefties on Twitter who seem to be whispering in admiration at his mumbles.

Blossomtoes · 10/02/2022 13:24

I believe it was Tone who actually pulled it off

He came in and took all the credit after Major and Mo Mowlam had done all the hard graft. Nice try but no cigar.

I'd go out on the doorstep canvassing for John Major if it were a contest between him and Big Baby, not that I ever voted for his party when he was Prime Minister.

Same here @jgw1. He was my constituency MP and, though it pained me to admit it, he was bloody brilliant.

Notonthestairs · 10/02/2022 13:31

I thought he was lecturing about the PM breaking his own legislation and in covering it up effectively shredding the integrity of the government and undermining their very purpose.
Not sure what is hilarious about that.

UnconditionalSurrender · 10/02/2022 13:35

Sadly it doesn't really matter that the UK delegation to Russia are unprepared and useless, because Johnson and co have degraded us to a 3rd tier status country, at best. No-one cares what we have to say even if they had anyone capable of saying it.
