This will be the one where he resigns, so if please keep the whatabout to a minimum.

@ClaudineClare

I have to say, Clare, that this seems to be a very unfriendly place for a newbie - some resident poster apparently uses sarcasm, without telling us, now you accuse me of being a "name changer" whatever that is supposed to be

Oh, don't take it to heart. It is just the cut and thrust of debate.

Fair enough, but I still don't understand the "name changer" jibe. Surely we've all changed our name to post here? I don't believe people are really called Blossomtoes or Merrymouse any more than my parents named me after a fictional character in Ulysses.

Bubbly is acceptable at work, beer is not.

Another bombshell from Cummings? It was clever to publish that photo just after PMQs had started.

Blossomtoes · 09/02/2022 12:45

Is Matthew Parris commenting on ministers or posters to this thread?

Read my mind @jgw1 😉

longwayoff · 09/02/2022 12:47

@Wilkolampshade, my grandson and a friend, both A level politics students, wrote to their MP and asked if they could shadow him for a few days in HOC. Yes, they could he said, so they did. Interesting but put them right off choosing a career in politics .Grin

For the 30 odd years that I have been using online forums, newsgroups and so on some posters have chosen to change their username. Sometimes this happens within a thread when they are losing an argument and then up pops another poster with a similar style to support them.

He just tweeted there's waaaaay better pics than that floating around, incl in the flat
Blossomtoes · 09/02/2022 12:51

Oh yeeeesss. Bring it on, Dom.

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2022 12:53

And from Lewis Goodall

I’ve spoken to several either familiar with the Gray inquiry or with what happened in No10. The widespread expectation is that at some point these photos will emerge (not least those taken by Downing St photographer), that it will be bad and there isn’t much sense what No 10...
...strategy is to deal with them. One person told me that they’re “ticking time bombs.”

I do hope we get to see the wallpaper in the flat photos.

Pre-covid, wilko but no harm in asking your MP. "They work for you " after all.

Booklover3 · 09/02/2022 12:58

Well… release the photos then DC!

GreenLunchBox · 09/02/2022 13:02

I wish he'd hurry up. This is excruciating

I think those photos are with the Met.
Blossomtoes · 09/02/2022 13:05

I’m perfectly happy with the gradual release. It’s a great strategy - give Johnson enough time to start to relax and think it’s all going away then drop another bombshell. Keep him on edge all the time. I reckon he’s got something big he’s saving until the end of April - just in time for the local elections.

Thanks. I didn't know that there was a facility in the MN system to change usernames. It must be very confusing if people do so frequently.
Wilkolampshade · 09/02/2022 13:25

@longwayoff @ClaudineClare thanks both.

But it's utterly pathetic

There is and it is commonly used by people who want to ask about a problem they have and it not be linked to their other posts.

Even if there were not that facility the same poster could just register another account, it is common across the internet.

But it's utterly pathetic

It certainly is.

What on earth was Boris and the others photographed thinking. Completely inappropriate for the Prime Minister to be drinking, and joining in quizzes when the country was in crisis.

In that picture he's doing neither
Blossomtoes · 09/02/2022 14:03

In that picture he's doing neither

He’s standing right on top of two random people when households weren’t supposed to mix. Wtf does it take for you people to stop defending him?

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2022 14:04

This from Nadhim Zahawi in December has aged well

Beware people are going to get bored stiff of this. Right now people are (rightly) more outraged by a cat being kicked across a room
jgw1 · 09/02/2022 14:14

You of course correct it was completely baseless of me to link an open bottle of wine on table to the Prime Minister who is well known for his sobriety.
I had been led to believe when an early picture with the same two other people had been published it was said that Boris was joining in some kind of quiz. Am I mistaken in this?
