This will be the one where he resigns, so if please keep the whatabout to a minimum.

Don't forget that the Tories are the party of law and order.

I wonder what advice Harri is giving Johnson tonight? Or are they too busy on the karaoke machine?

Don't you mean the Party Party? 🍻🤦‍♀️
Notonthestairs · 07/02/2022 19:27

I've seen a bit of the footage now. Horrible. It was an utterly predictable event. I guarantee Johnson won't retract. He might wriggle but he won't retract.

I feel for Starmer's family - and for Jo Cox's and David Amies' families, they must feel sick.

Little lies - Fleetwood Mac

DuncinToffee · 07/02/2022 20:09

Johnson's reaction

The behaviour directed at the Leader of the Opposition tonight is absolutely disgraceful. All forms of harassment of our elected representatives are completely unacceptable.

I thank the police for responding swiftly.

FFS

Javid's earlier cooment of 'time to draw a line under and move on' on the Savile comments are even worse now

thecatfromjapan · 07/02/2022 20:12

Noticeably absent in that: retraction, full retraction, of the slur.

cakeorwine · 07/02/2022 20:37

I wonder who the Cabinet Minister tomorrow who has drawn the short straw.

Words have consequences. He is Britain's Mini Trump.

DuncinToffee · 07/02/2022 20:47

I believe Dorries is visiting Saudi Arabia at the moment so not her.

All very reminiscent of his refusal to back down in 2019 when he called MPs traitors.

itsgettingweird · 07/02/2022 21:19

@DuncinToffee

Phew, the new No 10 spokesman Guto Harri has just said that Johnson is not a complete clown

All is fine now

Greta - so there's more to do as he completes his training 🤦‍♀️
itsgettingweird · 07/02/2022 21:22

@DuncinToffee

That is horrific Angry Johnson and his defenders are inciting this by the lies they are telling.

Britain's Trump

Yep. It has echos of the capitol storming.

Did the Prime Minister condemn the person who brought these bizarre lies to a wider audience?

1930s still held close to the hearts of some and here's some classic Mosley tactics. Delivery of black shirts for the front bench cant be far behind. Scurrilous bunch of pusillanimous weasels. Beneath contempt the whole bunch of them.

Tealightsandd · 07/02/2022 22:10

I saw a good point raised on social media. People are responsible for their own actions - including the mob hounding Starmer.

The point I saw online referred to when Angela Rayner was blamed for the murder of Sir David Amess, because she talked of 'Tory scum'. That was also wrong - because the only one responsible was the murderer.

Way things are going, Boris will end up being attacked by some nutjob.

I'm furious about his Covid (and other) failings, but sorry I don't condone violent hounding against anyone. Including him.

GreenLunchBox · 07/02/2022 22:11

Oh god. This thread is now basically the Trump threads. We have our own Trump.

CSWife · 07/02/2022 22:17

Nadir apparently in Saudi Arabia (why?) not wearing a headscarf. Not saying I agree with the Saudi regime, but assuming she's there to try and achieve something, then a bit of deference for their customs would probably be in order. She can't have gone for the boozy hospitality, that's for sure.

CSWife · 07/02/2022 22:18

A bit of light relief this evening from James Blunt. And some of the replies are brilliant, worthy of a mn village hall committee gathering

Angela Rayner 'unreservedly' apologises for Conservative 'scum' comments

And do you think people can be stirred up to action by people's words and speeches?

People are responsible for their own actions but words and speeches can have consequences for people's behaviour.

I could use Godwin's Law on here.

Notonthestairs · 07/02/2022 22:22

"People are responsible for their own actions"

Quite.

The PM is responsible for smearing Starmers name and then hiding behind Parliamentary privilege. It should never have been said and it should be retracted in full.

It won't because Johnson has form.

The James Blunt thread is funny. 🙂

Tealightsandd · 07/02/2022 22:25

Like I said on threads about Sir David Amess - where people said the same about Angela Rayner as they are now about Boris.

The only people responsible for violent and/or mob behaviour are the ones doing it.

And, inciting a mob against Angela, or Boris, or whoever, is not the answer.

Next time someone tells you to jump of a cliff, if you do as they say it will be your choice to do so.

DuncinToffee · 07/02/2022 22:25

A military coup spearheaded by James Blunt, brilliant
