To ask if you have a permanent WFH job...

SparkleTwinkle101 · 02/02/2022 18:42

What do you do?
Seems that it's only finance out there at the moment. I'm desperately searching a WFH job due to wanting to relocate. I have background in admin but it seems that doesn't exist in the WFH market!

I work in social housing

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 02/02/2022 18:44

I don't but DH does. He's an accountant

Simonjt · 02/02/2022 18:44

I’m an actuary, so kind of finance really.

PhoboPhobia · 02/02/2022 18:45

I have an NHS job wfh. Look at CCG jobs on NHS jobs.

YetAnotherChanger · 02/02/2022 18:45

Customer service, have worked many campaigns under my company. I’m currently on an inbound line for billing issues for a mobile network.

siblingrevelryagain · 02/02/2022 18:46

Admin for a charity-involves some finance, diary manager, HR; general PA support. Bloody love it!

RubyWho · 02/02/2022 18:46

I’m a Director of a business unit within a University. Went from being campus based to home based.

HopefulProcrastinator · 02/02/2022 18:49

Web design for a blue chip company

ApresGoldRush · 02/02/2022 18:50

I'd like that option, but it is not possible in my role (or others I've looked at). I work in sw tech area, and can work from home one day per week.

@RubyWho Oohh I'm in education at the moment. Feel a bit limited by experience really but not many education admin jobs are WFH based

IT - I design networks. Our company has lots of WFH customer service agent roles

nordica · 02/02/2022 18:52

Customer service manager

MrsPeacockDidIt · 02/02/2022 18:52

Our whole company is WFH permanently now so we have finance people (me) but also the marketing and PR. Comms Admin, learning function, HR and policy advisers. There hasn’t been a single role that hasn’t managed tonWFH. My H mostly WFH and he does IT and Comms. Something to do with clouds !

gwenneh · 02/02/2022 18:55

I have a hybrid work schedule at the moment could have done permanent WFH but chose to have some office days and I'm head of marketing for an environmental consultancy.

DH is a software developer. He is WFH full time; the company let go of their real estate and started hiring nationally about a year ago.

PlanetNormal · 02/02/2022 18:57

For context I have been working from home (management admin role) but been told we are all returning full time Unless you are on executive payscales

All the jobs out there seem to not advertise as remote which is a pain

Babiesandboardgames · 02/02/2022 18:59

@SparkleTwinkle101 sen officers, the ones who write echp plans mostly work from home..my best friend does this for a living. Be warned , its very very high stress

Treacletoots · 02/02/2022 18:59

Loads and loads in digital marketing !

Figgyboa · 02/02/2022 18:59

Tax advisor/consultant. Been WFH full-time for several years.

Gardengates · 02/02/2022 19:02

DH is in IT development. I am project manager.

Freelance at the moment but even FT positions are flexible about WFH

RubyWho · 02/02/2022 19:04

I’m not student facing which makes it easier but if you’re also not customer facing then why not put in a flex work request? The worst they can say is no (after actually considering it)

siblingrevelryagain · 02/02/2022 19:04

Education admin has loads of transferable skills; it’s what I did previously, but if you’re good at it (organised, good under pressure, analytical/attention to detail, problem solver, not an areshole), you can apply for loads of different sectors where they wfh, if the wfh is the key part. Just tailor the application to focus on the bits of the role you’d be really good at

ISeeTheLight · 02/02/2022 19:09

I work at an advertising agency - everyone works remotely and has done since we'll before covid.

DP also WFH permanently, he works at a consultancy in financial regulatory compliance/risk/tech (bit of an unusual hybrid role). Also has done since pre covid but that was because he requested it in a flexible working request.
