To ask if you have a permanent WFH job...

SparkleTwinkle101 · 02/02/2022 18:42

What do you do?
Seems that it's only finance out there at the moment. I'm desperately searching a WFH job due to wanting to relocate. I have background in admin but it seems that doesn't exist in the WFH market!

Wfh for the civil service as an executive officer. The role was advertised as a permanent WFH job. It's really suited my circumstances as I am a carer and I live in a remote area where there are literally no jobs.

teaandchocolate1 · 02/02/2022 19:44

Business to Business Sales. I love it.

dipdye · 02/02/2022 19:45

I work in group insurance and it's entirely WFH.

apprenticewage · 02/02/2022 19:50

My dh is an engineer and he works from home (mostly!)

CodLoverOil · 02/02/2022 19:51

I've had two since pandemic: one in digital marketing/ fundraising for a national charity and now in sales for a software service.

The first was advertised as remote working but my current job wasn't. I managed to make the case for remote working in my interview, and I'm now at the opposite end of the country from my team.

Hello606 · 02/02/2022 19:56

Event coordinator. Have you tried LinkedIn?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 02/02/2022 20:16

@Simonjt

I’m an actuary, so kind of finance really.
You've just made an old memory resurface, cos many moons ago, i used to invigilate actuary exams in London.

This would have been the late 90s/early 2000s.

maddiemookins16mum · 02/02/2022 20:18

Tax Accountancy.

Toseland · 02/02/2022 20:19

Graphic designer. All women with younger children should be allowed to work from home. Being close by during primary school was great.

ElectraBlue · 02/02/2022 20:44

@Toseland ''All women with younger children should be allowed to work from home''.

Actually I think this should be open to everyone, not just this particular group...

It makes sense for people with long-term conditions/disabilities, those who have caring responsibilities in general, people who had long commute and frankly for anyone whose jobs does can be done at home, full stop.

Iamclearlyamug · 02/02/2022 21:01

I’m an e-learning co-ordinator in the property industry, working for a not for profit organisation

Tomjonesmistress · 02/02/2022 21:03

Try sensee, they hire out people to companies as a remote call centre

Ruralbliss · 02/02/2022 21:04

RaoulDufysCat · 02/02/2022 21:07

I work in e-learning. Have always been WFH in this role. Previous role was also WFH in a v small company (my role was mainly admin and finance).

saltedcaramelhotchocolate · 02/02/2022 21:14

I WFH doing admin for a training company. And Flexible hours.

maddening · 02/02/2022 21:18

The husband has a wfh job some sort of tech network architect malarkey.

I am compliance in the financial industry and am going to be flexible hybrid doing 2 days a week in the office.

Mogul · 02/02/2022 21:23

Telesales, OH WFH 4 days a week and 1 office day in IT

Bigpinkslippers · 02/02/2022 21:27

Admin for a big It company. Whole company worldwide is now permanently wfh.

BagpipeBarmcake · 02/02/2022 21:29

Pretty much WFH permanently. I've gone into the office for the odd day recently - mainly because I've healthcare appointments nearby. Not expecting to be recalled to the office ever. Remote by default for the foreseeable future but I think once the craziness abates a little more I might have the option to go 1 -2 days a week - that won't be mandated though.

justustwoandmoo · 02/02/2022 21:29

HR for a social housing company. Only on week 2 though. Am absolutely loving WFH atm. Not sure if it'll last but so far it's fantastic!

My washing pile has never been so small 😂😂

MsRinky · 02/02/2022 21:32

Professional services in a University. Will probably end up doing a couple of days a month in the office, mainly for social reasons rather than it actually being necessary.

Husband does network stuff for a tech company - does a day on site at their data centre maybe every three weeks or so.

eekbumbler · 02/02/2022 21:33

Another vote for customer services. I have a background in IT and admin so not my usual role, but all calls are inbound so not cold calling. I guess it depends on how much you really want to stay home.

cheninblanc · 02/02/2022 21:34

Nhs admin, I've just moved to a wfh role from an I every day one. I an do hybrid in my new job which I often do 2 days a week. Its really perfect
