This is why a billionaire banker as chancellor is NOT a good thing. God help us if he becomes PM

rambleonplease · 03/02/2022 19:56

@GreenLunchBox

So last night the Tories voted to cut tax for the super-wealthy from 8% to 3% on profits over £25 million. Every single one of the fuckers voted for it. Yet this NI hike and freezing of the Personal Allowance is ' the right thing to do'.

Fucking bastards

Why are we not revolting?

Yes why are we not revolting?? We need a massive protest in this country to get the F*ers out!

How did I miss that? Was there a media blackout?

Seems that way. I was waiting for one of the jounos to ask about this when they were questioning Sunak today.

I've searched for a link but there's very little news out there. They've hidden this.

Hold on....

CSWife · 03/02/2022 20:08

Four staff going in one day is not a good look. Whether jumped or pushed, it's not good for the PM. Starting to panic?

Dead Cats, Savile and Levelling Up and maybe even the Ukraine
Blossomtoes · 03/02/2022 20:16

Dear God, they’re worse than I thought. Why on earth isn’t the opposition shouting this from the rooftops? £100,000,000,000.

FatFredsFriedEgg · 03/02/2022 20:19

It's not bankers' profits. it's banks' profits and it's a cut in the surcharge that was introduced in 2016.

Corporation Tax is going up 6% at the same time as the 5% cut in the surcharge so it's not really anything to get worked up about. It was announced in the Budget in October.

That's a trillion.
BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 03/02/2022 20:21

People never learn when it comes to the tories. They'd sell their own grandmothers if they could. They're obsessed with wealth, they don't give a shit about the UK or its population.

ENoeuf · 03/02/2022 20:23

It’s weird because I could absolutely be sure that a couple of years back MN was full of Dishi Rishi and how he was amazing. Makes me want to search to see how fickle it all is! Not this thread or posters just the general tone was a bit fan girl.

Blossomtoes · 03/02/2022 20:29

You’re right @FatFredsFriedEgg. I got carried away with my zeros.

thecatfromjapan · 03/02/2022 20:29

Tsk.

It's been a whole 10 minutes and nobody else has resigned.

Hold on.

Is this what addiction is like?

Am I hooked on the Boris Imosion Effect?

thecatfromjapan · 03/02/2022 20:30

Implosion

Notonthestairs · 03/02/2022 20:32

"Am I hooked on the Boris Implosion Effect?"

Never say that.

I know. I could never understand it 🤮

I usually refuse to click on that rag, but my Schadenfreude won't let me this time 🤣

You'll have to move quickly. The Bills going through Parliament will render just about all protests illegal.

While this is an opinion piece, it summarises what's heading our way courtesy of the Tories.

Isabel Hardman on Twitter
(@IsabelHardman) suggesting that Johnson allies are trying the line that the Savile line of defence actually came from Jacob Rees Mogg.

Unreal!!

I can believe that. They knew Boris was going to use that line. Apparently the was advised against it. So it wasn't something he just came up with on the spot

Just chewing the fat about what comment to say and they came up with that approach.

Speaks volumes about them
