I think it's got to be. I read he was planning to release only a portion of the report and in a few weeks. Now it appears to be maybe even today.

What report?

MissAmbrosia · 26/01/2022 11:41

I do hope so

mbosnz · 26/01/2022 11:42

I certainly hope so. I'm fed up with the whole ruddy shitshow, and this circus of monkies masquerading as organ grinders. Farrage threatening in a doom laden voice that if he has to go, it could trigger a genderal election is the final fucking icing on this shit pie.

Classica · 26/01/2022 11:43

£50,000 curtains no doubt. As selected by dear Lulu Lytle.

ToykotoLosAngeles · 26/01/2022 11:45

He'll go at the exact moment the people in charge of leaking this stuff want him to.

I suspect they've a Downing St stag and hen do to expose yet.

JennyForeigner · 26/01/2022 11:50

I hope it isn't. I want the fat oaf to stick around for another year, during which he is held accountable every single day, and poisoning the Tories for a generation.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 26/01/2022 11:50

He won't go he is like a cockroach!
He has no class and his cabinet (with a couple of notable exceptions) will back him because they are fuckwits who would never be so powerful again.

SilentNoMore · 26/01/2022 12:05

Agree
Counterpane · 26/01/2022 12:17

He will weasel out of it, he always does.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 26/01/2022 12:20

@AnotherMansCause

What report?
Must be a bit damp and chilly under that rock, in this weather. (Or is this a subtle joke I've missed?)

I think it HAS to be the end, even for him.

AlternativePerspective · 26/01/2022 12:21

Nope. And in truth sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for. The idea that e.g. Priti Patel could become the next prime minister is something I’m sure none of us wants to contemplate, but it could be a reality if he goes, and she is far worse.

But TBH I’m bored of all this now. There are far more trying issues out there such as Russia/Ukraine, they’re essentially trivialising all that by wittering on about bloody parties.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 26/01/2022 12:24

It's not about parties it's about lying hypocrisy!

SuitcaseOfWhine · 26/01/2022 12:25

I think we will end up with Rishi Sunak if he goes and I'm not keen on some privileged millionaire running the country. It will just lead to more of the same. No change in social mobility, rich people getting even richer. I'd rather wait a month or two and have more permanent damage to their reputation.

That said if not having a leader means we don't get involved with Putin's shit at the moment I will be all for it.

Francescaisstressed · 26/01/2022 12:25

He's going to hang on, in the hopes people will eventually get bored and distracted. Exactly what happened during covid with the PPE contracts. Except this time I think it's much more damaging to the tory party as a whole. The apologies he made are absolutely ridiculous after you see his behaviour at the Pmqs today. The anger means people won't forgive and won't forget

tulips27 · 26/01/2022 12:26

@AlternativePerspective I see your point but how much longer will we continue with the "but the alternative..." argument? It's been more than a decade that that rationale has been used to prop up successive under-performing governments. "Chaos under Ed Miliband", "But Corbyn..." and now "but Rishi Sunak/Priti Patel".

Iggly · 26/01/2022 12:26

How is it trivial to have a prime minister who is known for lying in charge as we walk into a potential war?

Boris Johnson is prepared to end public health measures to save his career.

Who knows what he will say about the Ukraine crisis just to save his career.

I don’t want him in place quite fucking frankly.

MarshaBradyo · 26/01/2022 12:26

Not sure but it’s dragging on.

Listened to PMQ for a bit. By next week at least this report will be in instead of repeat each week

Very well said!
Longcovid21 · 26/01/2022 12:29

Better the devil you know. There will be a much more authoritarian leader in the sidelines. Mark my words.

Justcallmebebes · 26/01/2022 12:36

What report?

Where on earth have you been for the last couple of weeks???

I wouldn't write him off yet, unfortunately. I do agree that a leadership contest at the moment won't be good for any of us. be careful what you wish for!

SerenaVanDerWoodsenHumphrey · 26/01/2022 12:37

He will hang on; he's publically said that he will. He'll be replaced (via a leadership contest) ONLY when and if the Tories think it's expedient to replace him. And that decision will be partly down to public opinion, but if he "must go" soon, it will be another Theresa May type "caretaker" leader/PM. The aspiring big guns will not want to take over in the middle of COVID, Brexit fallout, Ukraine, etc. If there is a leadership contest now, the Conservatives will not be "sending their best people".

itwasntaparty · 26/01/2022 12:38

He's a fuckwit, but who on earth is better? He's got some balls to brazen it out now. I think he'll be gone by tomorrow but walking into the Ukraine mess, who is going to be able to deal with it. Not suggesting Boris can, I don't think anyone can. Such a mess.

Blossomtoes · 26/01/2022 12:38

I’m torn. Part of me agrees with you, part of me is really fearful of the damage he’s inflicting on the country.

Even Teresa May would see sense to avoid it (if hadn’t already)

The other issue is even the MPs who say go can’t say who next eg David Davis couldn’t
