Frankly I’m astonished that any conviction Tory is supporting Johnson and his clinging on by his fingernails. All this God awful mess is doing is miring the Conservative brand and it grows more tarnished with every passing day, attempt to deflect and barefaced lie. If I were a true blue Tory I’d want a line drawn under this as soon as possible, starting with kicking Johnson out of Downing Street. His popularity ratings are about the same as Corbyn’s were in 2019 - what’s in it for the party by keeping him?

ClaudineClare · 26/01/2022 12:17

Johnson is unspeakable. His performance right now is just more lies. Fixing social care. Yeah right.

merrymouse · 26/01/2022 12:18

This is Boris Johnson.

He should never have been a candidate to be PM.

It’s no longer funny. He needs to go.

ENoeuf · 26/01/2022 12:18

I can’t bear to watch it. He’s so arrogant and I heard there was a cheer when he arrived. What does he have? Some form of charisma? Some magnetic power? It makes me disappointed about standards. Luckily I’m in a meeting.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 12:19

He has a vision for the country so he says at PMQs

God help us.

Lie after lie after lie

ClaudineClare · 26/01/2022 12:19

I cannot stomach much more of watching him.

ClaudineClare · 26/01/2022 12:20

Here come the sycophantic questions...

FeltCarrot · 26/01/2022 12:21

Me neither. Have put Bargain Hunt on.

itsgettingweird · 26/01/2022 12:22

This is our elected leader and his party.

In the House of Commons.

Performing like they are at a pantomime.

Having to be told by the speaker constantly to be quiet.

This guy is good!

Blossomtoes · 26/01/2022 12:23

The arrogance is absolutely unbelievable. Please God we never get another old Etonian in Downing Street.

22itsallnew · 26/01/2022 12:24

PM subject to a police investigation & yet he still blusters on.

Most of the UK want you out of the way Boris, because you are dishonest & still bullshitting us.

The way the MPs coduct themselves in the HOP is disgraceful, none of us would sit in work meetings shouting & baying & acting like running the country is all a big joke.

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 12:24

It may come as a shock to many politically motivated and involved mumsnetters, but outside in the real world the conservatives and the PM are still fairly popular ( or people don't care enough to worry about this )
Or maybe it's just the ones I know..
I just nod and smile, no point arguing because their views are pretty entrenched.

Notonthestairs · 26/01/2022 12:24

Sunak opted to sit further along the bench!

But they’re not. Look at the polls. Johnson has a personal approval rating of -39!
Roussette · 26/01/2022 12:27

How fucking rude is he.

Respond'ing to Ian Blackford with a fat joke is beyond belief.

He may as well have said "you're fat. Shut up"

Because they know he has a reputation for winning elections and they don't want to lose their jobs.
merrymouse · 26/01/2022 12:29

His ‘visions’ involves building things which, even if they were practical or useful (he doesn’t bother with those details), would not be funded by Conservative MPs who want to cut taxes, not spend money.

Dirtystreetpie · 26/01/2022 12:30

This Cornish MP has a brain like a pasty

Blossomtoes · 26/01/2022 12:30

Because they know he has a reputation for winning elections and they don't want to lose their jobs.

He’s won one general election. With a personal rating comparable to Corbyn’s worst, he’s not very likely to win another.

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 12:30

Just the people i know then! ..
people will still vote Conservative with a new leader though , just my prediction.
Plus, Rees mogg has told the newer ones that it would trigger a GE and they don't want this either I guess
Between a rock and a hard place

@ClaudineClare

Johnson is unspeakable. His performance right now is just more lies. Fixing social care. Yeah right.
He needs to explain why, if has suddenly become so important that we should ignore his law breaking, he and his party has never got around to fixing social care in the 21+ years they have been in power.
SirChenjins · 26/01/2022 12:31

He won’t win the next one if he continues to behave like this.

As for losing their jobs - yes, let’s add bullying and intimidating to the other less than positive adjectives used to describe the clown in charge of the story circus.

merrymouse · 26/01/2022 12:32

Because they know he has a reputation for winning elections and they don't want to lose their jobs.

He won an election against Corbyn.

If you think he will get from now to the next election without more fuck ups, I have a garden bridge to sell you. Price £43 million.

SirChenjins · 26/01/2022 12:32

*Tory circus

Blossomtoes · 26/01/2022 12:32

They’ve been in power just less than 12 years. Give them a chance.
