At last the police are crawling out from under the pile of shit they have allowed to engulf them. If the police don't play this straight, I can't see how anybody will feel obliged to follow any laws in this country..

HeddaGarbled · 26/01/2022 00:17

At what point will he blame it on the third Mrs Johnson, do you think?

PerkingFaintly · 26/01/2022 00:24

Once the clowning frontman has finally gone (now or later), I'm sure we'll still remember who put him there.

Like Andrew Bridgen and Steve Baker, who were delighted to elevate the catastrophe-creating toddler – and are now calling for the dismissal of their own tool.

We'll also remember those are trying to keep him there, like Nadine Dorries and Jacob Rees-Mogg.

The Tory party can't just flick Johnson off, slosh a bit of Jeyes Fluid on the tiles, and pretend to be all sanitary and shiny. The people who created this disaster will still be senior MPs.

I0NA · 26/01/2022 00:26

@Tealightsandd

I see that his would be successor - Silent But Deadly Twelve Homes - 'accidentally' joined the party.

I suppose it's quite easy to turn up at the wrong house when you own so many. Probably forgets which one he's going to on an evening.

Heaven help the country when he takes over. If people think Boris is bad...

Twelve Homes Rishi Sunak wants to go further than Boris ever would when it comes to persecuting the vulnerable and low waged. The £20 UC cut and fight against free school meals? That's just his warm-up.

Is that the Rishi Sunak who forgot about his family’s £1.7 BILLION and shares ?
Tealightsandd · 26/01/2022 00:37

He seems very forgetful.

Forgets which one of his many homes he's going home to... and accidentally ends up at a party.

Forgets about a spare £1.7 billion (who wouldn't?)...

Tbh his wealth alone doesn't necessarily mean he's unsuited to the job. But, we do need somebody with compassion and concern for the less fortunate.

Who knows? Perhaps in time he'll develop his policies to take that into account.

I think he's too young and inexperienced (in politics) to be PM regardless of the other stuff. You never know. With time, if he's prepared to wait and learn and improve, he might be more appealing at some later stage.

Meanwhile, I still vote for the (real) donkey 🐴

ArrrMeHearties · 26/01/2022 00:39

He's like bloody velcro he just keeps clinging on. But there will be a day he can cling no more and off he will fuck. And oh what a glorious day it shall be. Will be known as no more bojo day forevermore when it does happen

And I really hope this is a joke twitter.com/harrytlambert/status/1486068501509021698?t=dfMc4_Fm4rljq8cWBR128g&s=19

New: Boris Johnson & Carrie brooded at Chequers this weekend in confusion as they do not think they have done anything wrong.
They consider lockdown gatherings in No 10 to have been part of a "household bubble".
They do not seem to grasp public anger

If that's true, they had a truly bizarre idea of what a bubble was. Apparently it included every member of staff at no. 10 (even if they normally never saw each other all day), the PM's family, the interior designer, probably every workman dealing with the flat refurb, to say nothing of their personal friends and associates. I'd be tempted to ask if they were really that stupid, except that Johnson seems determined to show us that he really is.

Hislop for PM

DePfeffoff · 26/01/2022 01:36

If we have to have one of the present cabinet as successor, Gove is the best of a very bad lot. He does at least have history of being quite competent as Justice Minister, even if he was utterly hopeless in Education. But when you compare him with the likes of Dorries, Patel, Rees-Mogg and Truss, he's an intellectual giant.

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 05:46

Rees mogg in the Daily mail is now saying that IF there is a new leader there should be a General election. Another one!!
If Johnson was ' ambushed ' by a party cake , what hope had he got against Vladimir Putin and a very large Russian army ?

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 05:52

Blimey, the PM and the current Mrs Johnson confused ' by the old bubble rules? Or did they think bubble meant Prosecco ? How did they get on with the ' tier ' rules then? They were even worse .
Wasn't that hard , but if an old Etonian couldn't grasp it , then that must make me a genius !! As if!! 😂
Couldn't make it up. Well , they did and they still didn't get it .

Jeeze let's bloody hope so!
SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 26/01/2022 06:05

So Rees-Mogg is warning his own MPs that they might be out of a job if Johnson goes? Cute.

Chuechebache · 26/01/2022 06:09

Really hope the clown shit show is over.if they dont get rid of him,we voters can make our voice heard in the local elections in may.Hope the Tories will lose every single seat!

Nomicron · 26/01/2022 06:50

Even if he was ‘ambushed’ that just shows the culture in Downing Street was not one of following the rules.
I wouldn’t have dared ambush my boss with cake during the lockdown. We weren’t even allowed to share food. And I didn’t see colleagues working in another part of the building for nearly a year except to wave at in the car park

Yes it was a warning. Also shows that RM is worried.

I would be enjoying this a whole lot more if I thought he would actually go, but am convinced he will just hold on for grim death. I think people are going to get bored with it all and move on soon anyway.

Who would be your favourite to take over from him? I can't think of anyone tbh.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 07:09

Rees-Mogg was on Newsnight last night. Kirsty Wark handled him well but ye gods, he was so patronising it was untrue. His interview made me so angry... the way he talked to her and to us... in answer to persistent questions.

That man needs to go. Get a grip NESomerset FFS.

Notonthestairs · 26/01/2022 07:39

BBC tweeting that Downing Street doesn't yet have the report. So I don't think anyone will get it in time for PMQ's. Handy.

Yup this is what I think. I said on the last thread he has learned that he can get away with things.

I've a horrible feeling that you're right. If he doesn't go this week he won't go. Cummings Mk II.

I saw that. He was clearly pissed off that the plebs were daring to question Johnson's actions. His patronising tone strongly reminded me of one of the posters on this thread, so much so I wondered for a second if he could actually be that poster!

Having worked the civil service, I expect the draft is still being picked over and disagreements about comma placements are holding things up. Just bloody get the thing out.
Cornettoninja · 26/01/2022 08:06

@Roussette JRM has been a c*nt (for the delicate) of the highest order for such a long time. I don't recall a single interview with him that I haven’t come away from feeling completely incensed. He’s basically cosplaying a member of the royal court from Tudor England.

O/T I’m not surprised BJ can’t recall all the details of a particular party, there were so many of them!

The country doesn’t need the distraction of his ridiculousness right now, he needs to do the decent thing and let an adult take charge.
