Oh dear oh dear. Talking of lying... we are on the brink of another porkie by Johnson.

December interviewed saying he did not arrange for the Pen Farthing Dogs evacuation to take place ahead of Afghans waiting to get out.
A whistleblower has just provided emails to the Foreign Affairs Committe proving he was lying on this. And yes he was instrumental in arranging this.

Snap Duncin!

Roussette · 26/01/2022 13:00

Anywayyyy, BJ wiped the floor with whiny 'but party!' Starmer. Again

You do make me laugh! Take off those rose coloured specs!

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 13:00

There were enough work events then , all of them work events ? If the Sue Gray report said it was all work events then they wouldn't need the police involved would they ?
Why are the Met spending money on this if the Sue Gray report is saying all of them that went on were all for work ? Even those involving wine and cakes and cheese boards?
Why is it still rumbling on then ?
Still , have to see what the inquiry is saying I guess , if none of these were parties , then the Met will drop it and we could all move on after months of it all.
When is this Gray report out ?

SueSaid · 26/01/2022 13:04

'There were enough work events then , all of them work events ? If the Sue Gray report said it was all work events then they wouldn't need the police involved would they ?'

No I'm not suggesting they all were but the 3 person zoom brief Christmas quiz plus cake in the office seemed to be.

If there was a rave in the basement at 1am that doesn't seem like a work do, no. Were any ministers actually there? We'll have to wait and see.

UnconditionalSurrender · 26/01/2022 13:04

It isn't. It is about a Cummings led media witch hunt to get revenge and get him out

It isn't though is it. Its about a PM who lies to everyone including parliament as easily as he draws breath.
And if he had had any political nous he would've known to avoid falling out with Cummings. But sadly he has none.

merrymouse · 26/01/2022 13:05

Eating and drinking at work was never not allowed. Everyone I know in the nhs said the staff room was full of people chatting and having takeaways every single day people doing tiktoks etc. People weren't all sat in solitary confinent wearing hair shirts.

Really? Really? Stuck in solitary confinement wearing hair shirts? You think people who fucking obeyed the rules because Boris Johnson told them it was necessary to protect the NHS and save lives were ‘wearing hair shirts’.

Your must be devoid of empathy and understanding if you think that was what was happening.

22itsallnew · 26/01/2022 13:08

'It's not about parties and cake. This is about the morals and decision making quality of the people who want to make the biggest decisions for our country.'

@JanieJones It isn't. It is about a Cummings led media witch hunt to get revenge and get him out

There you go again disparaging all the sacrifices people made during such terrible times in the country Sacrifices Johnson himself was unwilling to make.

You may be happy to have a dishonest PM who lies in parliament, lots of the public aren't.

Oldmrswasherwoman · 26/01/2022 13:08

The self congratulating on the vaccine programme is very annoying - getting the vaccines out as soon as possible was the minimum I'd expect from a UK Government - we had the money, infrastructure and a (mostly) willing population - even BJ couldn't balls that up!

DuncinToffee · 26/01/2022 13:10

I think we follow similar SM accounts Roussette

It all feels very Trump

[quote DuncinToffee]Looks like he is being caught out on yet another lie, this time about his personal intervention to get Nowzad animals out of Aghanistan, something he said was complete nonsense on 7 Dec.

The email says he authorised their evacuation? I'm missing the bit where they were prioritised.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 13:15

Oh indeed Duncin... we just know don't we...

Seen it all before. The hanging on by the fingernails, the blackmail and shoring up his defences, the witholding money from constituency MPs who won't back him, the lies continually, the image and buffoonery his fanbase likes....

ClaudineClare · 26/01/2022 13:15

Cross post, sorry!

SueSaid · 26/01/2022 13:16

'You think people who fucking obeyed the rules because Boris Johnson told them it was necessary to protect the NHS and save lives were ‘wearing hair shirts’

No. I'm saying many key workers were at work where eating and drinking in communal areas was the norm, even doing silly tik toks in some cases. These weren't 'parties' either.

merrymouse · 26/01/2022 13:17

Somebody with Johnson’s limited brain function can’t possibly be expected to wonder what resources might be being used for this operation.

It’s almost as though he should be expected to think about how much money he had committed to wallpaper expenditure.

@JaniieJones that being so it will be easy enough for you to find one or two examples of it to share with us, if you are struggling Clav is very good at searching the internet and can probably help find you a link to an example.

In other news the squirrels in the garden are now chasing each other in circles, there is a nut involved so it is still work.

Do you think many of the NHS workers had booze fridges installed at work or do you think they just brought it in by suitcase?

A friend told you this?

On Pen Farthing... here is a link to the Foreign Affairs website with all emails.
He lied
He said he had 'no influence on that particular case.'

He did.

CorrBlimeyGG · 26/01/2022 13:23

The email says he authorised their evacuation? I'm missing the bit where they were prioritised.

He authorised the evacuation when thousands of applications sat in an inbox unread.

It wasn't his job to authorise any evacuations. He used his position to facilitate an evacuation of animals ahead of people.

SueSaid · 26/01/2022 13:25

'Somebody with Johnson’s limited brain function can’t possibly be expected to wonder what resources might be being used for this operation.'

Oh I agree. I argued incessantly in Aug on mn that Pen Farthing and his attention seeking operation Ark should not be prioritised but my point is in the email they authorise their evacuation which we all knew back in Aug hence private flights etc arranged. The email doesn't say prioritise them over people.

Abraxan · 26/01/2022 13:25

If any civil servants overstepped the mark and there is evidence of actual parties fine sack them.

Anywayyyy, BJ wiped the floor with whiny 'but party!' Starmer. Again.

Every school I know staff at: staff rooms all closed, social media criticism is any staff were seen together socially, staff eating in classrooms with the children, all staff meetings done online in separate classrooms.

One of the papers criticised staff seen having a drink (and I don't mean alcohol) in the playground whilst they key worker children played outside - how dare two teachers stand together and talk, whilst drinking.

The government publicly criticising school staff and blaming them for all spread in schools, as it can't be the children - they were still going with the line that children don't spread it then.

So not okay for school (or nhs) staff to sit/stand and have a cup of tea together, outside, during their working day. But perfectly fine for BJ and his mates to have a social gathering, after work hours, in large numbers and involving drink and food.

How does that work? If one is wrong, then the other must surely be too 🤷‍♀️

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 13:25

We all made sacrifices.
Even those determined to break the rules had to tow the line because of threats of fines and with , mostly , everything shut people didn't have a lot of choice to be honest.
It's the fact that now we are told that the rules were too rigid or we could have had a party if we wanted to , that is the part that makes people angry. They didn't care enough to just think ' this might be a bad idea ' let's just put this on ice for a few years. Let's at least pretend we care about the people. But no, it's beyond them completely to just think how it might look.
They must have known this would get out.
I was a bit meh about the tic tok videos with the nurses too in 2020 , but they were 2m apart and it only took a few mins to make I'm sure. It Might have been choreographed in their own time outside too, hardly a knees up
Plus most hospital canteens are big enough to socially distance too and people need to eat on their breaks , even during a pandemic!
It wasn't a party with cakes and cheese

truthfullylying · 26/01/2022 13:27

The email says he authorised their evacuation? I'm missing the bit where they were prioritised Hmm pretty weak technicality to try to wriggle out of that one

truthfullylying · 26/01/2022 13:29

It amazes me how some people will still try anything to defend him. Why bother? He is a lying arse, we all know it.
