to call for boycott on Cadbury's Roses?

I was given a box of Roses as a thank you a couple of years ago. They tasted like vomit, palm oil and sugar. An absolute waxy abomination.

I still see them stacked up in supermarkets every Christmas and wonder who the hell is buying them and how the company is getting away with it.

Please, stop buying them - they are not the same as you remember!

OP posts:
Caramellatteplease · 23/01/2022 03:00

We love them

vodkaredbullgirl · 23/01/2022 03:01

No they not the same, the tins are too small lol

Tevion28 · 23/01/2022 03:02

Full of strawberry and orange creams

PenStation · 23/01/2022 03:08

They are horrible but people give them as gifts or are too young to remember when they tasted better.

SerialNo · 23/01/2022 03:12

Oh no, now they taste like vomit, palm oil and sugar.

As opposed to their more traditional vomit and sugar taste.

Cheeserton · 23/01/2022 03:16

Tiny portions for lots of money. Ridiculously slimmed down selection inside compared to the originals. Same wrapping style and size for all of them nearly. Taste like palm oil and crap now.

Yeah, they really went out of their way to ruin what used to be a superb variety of superb chocolates in interesting packaging.

The utter, utter bastards. Boycott away.

1forAll74 · 23/01/2022 03:49

I think that all cadburys chocolate is nasty now,,i would not buy any at all.

DramaAlpaca · 23/01/2022 03:51

They've always been nasty, nothing's changed in that way. Overly sweet and unpleasant flavours. I don't buy them.

Alfixn · 23/01/2022 03:58

Agreed OP, but it's not just Roses, it's all Cadbury chocolate. It's worlds apart from what it used to be.

ilovesooty · 23/01/2022 04:39

@Tevion28

Full of strawberry and orange creams
They're the best ones.
Gingerkittykat · 23/01/2022 05:02

I agree they are rubbish now.

We got a box for Christmas and ate a few and threw the rest away.

belimoo · 23/01/2022 05:19

@Alfixn

Agreed OP, but it's not just Roses, it's all Cadbury chocolate. It's worlds apart from what it used to be.
I agree. I would love a bar of dairy milk from the 90s. It all tastes awful these days.

It means I eat a lot less chocolate now at least.

BritWifeInUSA · 23/01/2022 05:24

Taste like vomit? Grow up.

User387598621 · 23/01/2022 05:25

I think people just buy the tins because they are handy when you have people round at Christmas, I wouldn't be offering my Leonidas around as they are too expensive. All those cheap tins of chocolates are similarly bad

ChessieFL · 23/01/2022 05:27

I still like them! I agree they’re not as good as they used to be but I still like them. And the strawberry and orange creams are my favourites anyway so I don’t mind that there’s more of them.

MagentaRocks · 23/01/2022 05:52

Why would we boycott them because YOU don't like them? Not a massive fan of them but some people like them.

ShippingNews · 23/01/2022 05:52

I like them . You feel free to boycott, but I won't be joining in.

Twiglets1 · 23/01/2022 06:10

Quality street is far superior

devildeepbluesea · 23/01/2022 06:13

This year was the first Christmas without them for us. I remembered, I was so disappointed last year that I vowed never to have them again.

sakura06 · 23/01/2022 06:19

I agree with PP that it's all Cadbury's chocolate. I guess it's the palm oil... Quality Street is still nice IMO.

anotherbrewplease · 23/01/2022 06:26
Confused

Whatever - I didn't think they were that bad...

MrsPotatoHead22 · 23/01/2022 06:27

Each to their own and all that.

User387598621 · 23/01/2022 06:30

DH likes them which I'm glad about or he would stuff all my nice chocolates.

GrendelsGrandma · 23/01/2022 06:33

That's not really a boycott, that's you not buying a product you don't like. A boycott is a concerted campaign intended to achieve a result.

If you organised a national boycott calling for the sale of Cadbury back to a company that gave a fuck about chocolate, that would be a boycott.

I'm with you on the chocolate though.

tara66 · 23/01/2022 06:42

I ate a whole tin myself that was mean to be a present!
