to call for boycott on Cadbury's Roses?

I was given a box of Roses as a thank you a couple of years ago. They tasted like vomit, palm oil and sugar. An absolute waxy abomination.

I still see them stacked up in supermarkets every Christmas and wonder who the hell is buying them and how the company is getting away with it.

Please, stop buying them - they are not the same as you remember!

I bought them at Xmas cos I liked the tin, that was that was good though we still ate them and I ended up buying quality street too which are much much tastier

TraceyLacey · 23/01/2022 09:56

Quality Street are yuk too, I couldn't finish the box I had at Christmas.

It's not snobbery, Lidl had fantastic Christmas chocolates.

RestingStitchFace · 23/01/2022 09:58

Very disappointing - taste vile, they've replaced a lot of the nice nutty ones with cheaper ones and disproportionate amount of orange cream (bluergh). Think next year I'm just going to invest in some good quality chocolate biscuits instead.

LydiaFTM · 23/01/2022 09:58

Oh grow up. Just don't buy them. There are literally thousands of products on the shelves so we aren't all going to like the same ones! Why bother yourself worrying about them?

katienana · 23/01/2022 09:58

I hate the wrappers, they are so bulky and look ugly in a bowl. The old foil or twisty wrappers were much nicer and the little Bournville and dairy milk that looked like miniature bars were so cute.

Do you always take everything so seriously? Grin
MsMiaWallace · 23/01/2022 10:01

Yeah Cadbury's chocolate does taste awful now.
As does a lot of Nestle & Mars.
It's all about cost cutting.

I love Hotel Chocolat but I guess in time this will change too :(

Pikaso · 23/01/2022 10:14

Well I personally think that prawn cocktails crisps should be banned as I don’t personally like them.

Christmas1988 · 23/01/2022 10:43

I promise I won’t buy them…. Unless another cath kidston tin comes out, then I will have to cave in.

They're nasty - but then, all Cadbury products are now.

No, I won't We like them and all the big tins of chocolates. So you don't like them, don't buy them but lots of people enjoy them and won't stop doing so. just because you tell them to.
Franticbutterfly · 23/01/2022 14:16

UK Cadbury's is disgusting.

BritishDesiGirl · 23/01/2022 18:40

The original square dairy milk in foil.

Sartre · 23/01/2022 18:42

I agree that it’s all Cadbury chocolate, I can’t eat it anymore.

EarlyModernEnglish · 23/01/2022 19:04

It’s weird how loads and loads of people on mn literally can’t eat them but when a box is open at work literally everyone is fine with them. In fact, I haven’t met a single person in real life who has rejected them in the dramatic way that seems normal on this thread 🤷‍♀️

DonttouchthatLarry · 23/01/2022 19:07

I only like the orange and strawberry creams - bought a box of each from a local shop instead.

Grin totally agree

No one in real life opens the box and goes VILE! TASTES LIKE VOMIT!

Roominmyhouse · 23/01/2022 19:09

I still like them, particularly the strawberry creams! Yum.

Tal45 · 23/01/2022 19:09

Cadburys has been completely ruined since it was bought out by Kraft. Not surprising really sadly.

Tal45 · 23/01/2022 19:11

(Not that I wouldn't still eat them - I'm just constantly disappointed when I do).

DappledThings · 23/01/2022 19:16

They taste fine to me. Same as all chocolate. I've no doubt some people can taste a difference but I suspect a lot of people are joining because not being able to enjoy ordinary chocolate is now a trendy opinion.

LubaLuca · 23/01/2022 19:22

@Goatinthegarden

I was given a box of Cadbury’s Milk Tray recently. I hadn’t had Cadbury’s in years and I thought it tasted far different from what I remembered. It was very sickly sweet and I didn’t eat them (and I’ll eat most things!).

Have they actually changed the Dairy Milk recipe? I assumed it was just me.

Milk Tray are really bad these days. My very first Valentine's Day present was a tiny box (1/4 lb) of Milk Tray from my a boy in my class, and I was absolutely thrilled with them, so I feel very sad about their decline. They should still taste exactly as they did on that day Sad

They don't taste like vomit though, I mean I can eat them to be polite.

MrsJaxTellerPlease · 23/01/2022 19:23

I've stopped buying Cadbury's full stop. It's disgusting now.

Chikapu · 23/01/2022 19:37

Cadbury's chocolate tastes much nicer here in Ireland, I think the recipe is slightly different somehow.
As for a boycott, will you stop buying foods that other people don't like because we say so? I doubt it.

TheGoogleMum · 23/01/2022 19:51

If they're around I eat them but I do t tend to buy them and can't find them too exciting...
I do quite like heroes though so it isnt all Cadburys I feel like this about?
