Do you think guilty or innocent

OP posts:
Roussette · 03/01/2022 10:29

And of course his security detail knew. He didn't fly on the Lolita jet on his own, or go to New Mexico or NY or caribbean properties countless times without security

RoyalFamilyFan · 03/01/2022 10:30

@EvilPea

Not cut and dried. But I agree with the guilty and didn’t know it. I think he thought the girls actually fancied him. He didn’t ask the questions he should have, was flattered and thought they wanted him as he felt he was “gods gift” Simple man with a large ego.
He worked for the NSPCC and publicly said he did know the signs to watch out for and recognise because of that work. He knew, he just didn't care.
EvilPea · 03/01/2022 10:31

So many speak out about the girls in Rotherham. There is exactly the same here, except instead of kebab shops and flats, you have mansions and private jets. Oh and of course they are white, rich and in some cases famous

Absolutely this.

Roussette · 03/01/2022 10:31

Royal. Yes quite a few years ago
He's trying to sell it and was being sued for £8m over in Switzerland, allegedly paid off by queen

SerendipityJane · 03/01/2022 10:32

@Malariahilaria

There is an article in The Times today where a senior military figure has called for the Queen to remove his military titles because he's bringing shame to the regiments. The Queen, and only the Queen can remove those titles. The fact she doesn't speaks volumes. He has 9 honorary titles, but shows very little honour at all in keeping them. Why doesn't he give them up? I believe it's sheer arrogance.
If the Queen won't remove them, maybe the other holders of the honours could resign and return them to show their disgust ?

Anyone who is a thorn in the side of extremely rich entitled middle aged men who have sex with teenagers is alright by me! Hero.

Newyearoldyou · 03/01/2022 10:36

He's put her in a very difficult situation.
Can imagine someone saying but Andrew darling you were nspcc ambassador for goodness sake.. You knew the signs and don't spot any.

I don't believe any of them truly understand what has gone on here at all

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/01/2022 10:39

@Roussette

In NY at the time, in VGs legal case, one of the places she supposedly had sex with PA, that was illegal. The NY age laws are different to ours.
No - she was 17 which is the age of consent in NY.

She is trying to use a window that’s opened up in NY allowing child victims of sexual assault to pursue justice in cases that would normally be out of time. As she was under 18, she can use this - but as she was over the age of consent it’s certainly weakened.

Vapeyvapevape · 03/01/2022 10:41

I absolutely take my hat off to that woman. She was a nobody and she has shown that rich powerful royal men can (eventually) be a little bit cornered. I wouldn't exactly say that he has been made to pay but I hope that he has had many sleepless nights. That might in the end be the closest she can get to justice but right now, I hope she sleeps more soundly than he does

She is 100% very brave. I was one of 5 women that went to the police regarding abuse we suffered as children. It made it to court but we lost, standing in the witness stand being called a liar and having my words twisted was truly awful, and that was without it being all over the media.

RoyalFamilyFan · 03/01/2022 10:42

@Newyearoldyou I think they understand exactly what has gone on. They simply saw poor girls trafficked for sex as disposable, just as the men in Rotherham did.

EvilPea · 03/01/2022 10:43

He worked for the NSPCC and publicly said he did know the signs to watch out for and recognise because of that work. He knew, he just didn't care

My view is that his ego and blinded friendship wouldn’t let him see that in his context it was the same.
No one is the villan in their story. To see it, he would have to realise what he did was wrong and what his friends did was wrong. You aren’t going to be able to see that in yourself after a 15 minute safe guarding course probably using Rotherham or trafficking from abroad as an example.

he believed these girls wanted him and fancied him. In his head it won’t be the same as these trafficked girls.

It is no defence. It does not make it right.

The 90’s was my “youth”. There certainly was an expectation of girls who were invited to parties “she’s a party girl” would mean guaranteed shag. Good girls were your girlfriend. Party girls “just a shag”. So easy to compartmentalise against his daughters.
A) no one would try it on. They are good girls
B) these girls are party girls. “They love it”.

RoyalFamilyFan · 03/01/2022 10:44

@Vapeyvapevape I am so sorry they lost. This happens again and again. Woman and men who report abuse as children and teenagers are called liars. As if standing up and saying all these things in court is easy. It is incredibly hard.

StoneofDestiny · 03/01/2022 10:44

If the Queen doesn’t remove his titles it shames her and the whole Royal family. She was quick enough to remove Diana’s, Sarah Ferguson’s and the honorary positions held by Harry. Wonder why Andrew is being shielded and protected so much.

I agree. They are not stupid, they have had the best education money can buy.
They did not care and they thought they were untouchable.

Respect to you for having the courage. What a pity that was the outcome. I hope you're ok Flowers
lightisnotwhite · 03/01/2022 10:47

Whilst I understand slagging off the organisation that is the RF at least they are in the spotlight. They are the only rich people who’s private life is accountable / public really.
Who the heck knew of Epstein before this? Who are the other rich men involved? Their lives are private and protected. No way would light be shone on any of their murky lives without PA being who he is.

RoyalFamilyFan · 03/01/2022 10:47

@EvilPea I was a working adult in the 90s. People always claim things were different, they weren't. Some adults saw some girls as slags and thus as teenagers who could be used for sex as they wished. It is no different today. You can see this on mumsnet for a start.
And in the 90s I would have made a report to SS if a teenage girl I knew was going to parties with only teenage girls and older men. Because it is blindingly obvious to anyone with half a brain that is dodgy as fuck.

Newyearoldyou · 03/01/2022 10:47

Rosette

Maybe they also availed themselves of what was on offer??

I was surprised in the vf articles how obvious the security was and how many people were watching him!!

Have you not noticed that Barclays got rid of their CEO? There were veiled references in the media to it being linked to Epstein. Barclays did the right thing and got rid of him. The Queen just continues to defend Andrew.

Newyearoldyou · 03/01/2022 10:49

The only excuse I can find for the queen is for his children sake. They have endured alot with their mum already and now this. Maybe it's a final humiliation the queen wants to spare them from??

Maybe the Queen does not think Andrew did anything wrong? That these girls from poverty were just slags and deserved what they got? You do know the Queen is not the cuddly grandmother the media pretend? We can see that from the stories the media do tell us about her.
Newyearoldyou · 03/01/2022 10:51

Even if they understood the girls were trafficked I don't think they fully understand what that means ie the circumstances that would lead to such vulnerability and so on, the anguish and pain, fear.

It's that side I was referring too.

Someone I trust attests to him being extremely sexist in the one encounter they had with him in a charity capacity.
