Do you think guilty or innocent

OP posts:
Upyouranty · 02/01/2022 19:12

I cannot believe the lengths that people will go to - to extend good faith and benefit of the doubt to such educated privileged people.
While simultaneously victim blaming and treating with contempt young girls and female children.

What do you think the world travelled, well connected and educated multi millionaire prince didn’t understand about sex with underage girls?
It's VG who is alleged to have used the term slutty

is this a term a native born American would know ?

separatedbyacommonlanguage.blogspot.com/2008/08/slutty.html
That's one of the reasons why I said alleged

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 19:12

Also GM was highly intelligent, with a privileged education. If she was fucked up by her childhood she can pay for therapy. She wasn’t a vulnerable teenager from the wrong side of the tracks.

MsTSwift · 02/01/2022 19:13

Absolutely it’s mind boggling. He was 40 something she was 17!

Lesserspottedmama · 02/01/2022 19:14

Guilty. I hope the press really go for him in a big way once his mother has died, I think they’ve gone easy on him thus far because of the Queen. Disgusting man, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t the one in his family through.

RoyalFamilyFan · 02/01/2022 19:14

Yes I wonder if the press will go for him once the Queen dies.

Upyouranty · 02/01/2022 19:18

I read all the victim statements of the Rochdale scandal as part of my thesis.
Absolutely devastating for those children to be demonised and ostracized by the community that should have protected them.

It’s not just about being female but the worst crime of all committed by ALL the victims is that they are regarded as the wrong Kind of females.

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 19:19

Nah they’ll probably just carry on kicking Meghan.

MsTSwift · 02/01/2022 19:21

Don’t get me started on the vitriol for flipping Meghan what has she ever done in comparison to Andrew?! Misogyny writ large.

So could VG be in trouble for recruiting young girls if it was a pyramid scheme?

Slutty is used in Friends so yes it probably is common in the US

grassisgreen · 02/01/2022 19:28

VG is claiming that she was 'compelled by express or implied threats by JE, GM and/or PA to engage in sexual acts with PA and feared death or personal injury to herself or another and other repercussions for disobeying JE, GM and PA due to their powerful connections, wealth or authority'.

So on 3 occasions VG appeared for PA in London, New York and Caribbean; Did PA think she was there for her sparkling conversation, or deep intellect or trade and industry connections? Surely not.

Did PA think VG fully consented to sexual acts? ie there was no form of coercion or pressure, that she had travelled to London, NY and the Caribbean Island for her own purposes, but being paid for by JE, to see him, of her own free will, without fear of reprisal?
What did PA think VG was there for? Surely his lawyers will not want him cross examined on this point - too risky that he may say something incriminating. And the GM trial has made the facts very tricky.

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 19:29

VG’s lawyers don’t know why she wasn’t called. She made some errors in her recollection of dates but that’s not surprising given the time lapse.

One theory is that she brought other baggage into the trial as she accused other people other than GM and Epstein and the lawyers wanted to keep it tidy and focused on GM, not bringing in extraneous detail. Another aspect is that her story is well known and jurors may have formed opinions prior to the trial whereas the complainants they used were not known widely in the media.

VG has furthermore already settled with GM in 2017, so that case has already been tried.

Vapeyvapevape · 02/01/2022 19:29

Many victims of abuse go back to their abusers (women in domestic violent relationships often do) it doesn’t make them guilty of anything other than being vulnerable/brainwashed.

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 19:34

@toomuchlaundry

I don’t see why, it’s common in grooming networks - the abused girls are groomed into grooming other girls.

In the UK abuse networks in the abusers lost interest in girls over 14 and then those girls were expected to find other younger girls.

DuncinToffee · 02/01/2022 19:36

BligeMe Virginia was a 17 year old girl, 17!

CathyorClaire · 02/01/2022 19:37

I can well believe that PC didn’t think to question anything or maybe didn’t see anything to question

Given that Savile's activities were a very open secret it's hard to believe Charles's expensive army of expert advisers whose job it was to research on his behalf were entirely unaware of unsavoury rumours.

Classicblunder · 02/01/2022 19:37

@toomuchlaundry

It's complicated but yes in principle she could be taken to civil court at least by one of the girls she recruited. In practice, they would be more likely to go after someone at the top of the pyramid
nocoolnamesleft · 02/01/2022 19:42

I think he's sleazy and dodgy. I think it highly likely he had sex with so many teenage girls he can't remember them all. It seems plausible that he's so fucking arrogant that he did believe they were all gagging for it with him. So I don't know if he is technically guilty. Though he may be. But the hypohydrosis thing does niggle me a little. I believe he came up with some crap about not being able to sweat after stuff that happened in the Falklands? Sounds like bollocks. But significantly reduced sweating as a side effect of tricyclic antidepressants after struggling to cope after stuff that happened in the Falklands? That is possible... After all, it's such a ludicrously stupid thing to make up...

Roussette · 02/01/2022 19:44

She has already sued people and won a fair few bob to date. Who else does she allege she was pimped out to, why isn't she suing them? Because Andrew was the only one stupid enough to be photographed with her?

This has been discussed a lot on this thread. She is drawing attention to this with the prominent one... PA. It is EXACTLY what I would do - for myself, and for the other victims who went through awful ordeals too.

The 'won a fair few bob' is distasteful. Are you suggesting she is just in this for the money? Do you think she would go through all this just for the money, have her reputation besmirched etc, just for money. I don't.
I admire her greatly. She is tenacious. She advocates for victims of trafficking.

RoyalFamilyFan · 02/01/2022 19:45

@nocoolnamesleft Andrew was asked to come up with proof by the court he had a medical condition that affected his ability to sweat. He admitted he couldnt.

DuncinToffee · 02/01/2022 19:49

Virginia has also set up Victims Refuse Silence, a non-profit organization. ] The objective of Victims Refuse Silence is to "help survivors surmount the shame, silence, and intimidation typically experienced by victims of sexual abuse, and to help others to escape becoming victims of sex trafficking".

Lockdownbear · 02/01/2022 19:50

I simply don't buy that he didn't understand the reason why she was there (ie she was being paid)

There is understanding she was being paid, being rewarded for being there, but then did he understand the girls were being controlled and trafficked?

I think it will be difficult to prove that he knew the girls were being controlled by GM and JE.

I am curious as to why they choose to wander a public park and allow that photo to be taken after the JE allegations came out. That confused me as to what he was thinking. Surely that conversation could have been being closed doors or out in the middle of nowhere.

ErinTingey · 02/01/2022 19:51

He'd know she was a teenager from another country, without her parents present, flown into the country by two adults not related to her, on a night out and then what looks like a house party. That's the very least he knew.

How? You are assuming he'd think to ask those questions. I doubt he would. Stop assuming he'd ask the same questions you would.

If he didn't ask questions he bloody well should have.

Why? It's was an everyday thing for him. He wasn't 'randy Andy' for no reason.
