Do you think guilty or innocent

OP posts:
Roussette · 02/01/2022 09:12

If anyone wants to read it, here is the transcript of the interview. It's a real eye opener given what has happened since it was aired.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50449339

And it looks just as bad as watching it at the time.

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 09:13

@Time40

Of knowingly having sex with a girl who had been coerced by others to have sex with him? Probably innocent, because I'm sure he's so arrogant that he would expect pretty young girls to want him.

Of having sex with a 17-year-old? Probably "guilty" - but having sex with a 17-year-old is legal in the UK, so the question there is whether or not he broke the laws of another country.

It’s not legal now to have sex with a trafficked 17 year old in the U.K., but it wasn’t illegal at the time.

Either way Guiffre’s case is a civil not a criminal one.

TheKeatingFive · 02/01/2022 09:14

it does not make me a criminal or disgusting to question her motives which seem to be always about getting money

You're singing from the exact hymn sheet the entitled arseholes want you to. They'll be absolutely delighted with your internalised misogyny. Big pat on the back from them.

CathyorClaire · 02/01/2022 09:16

to be fair there are other people on social media who dont believe her account either , im not the only person in the universe who doubts her

Are you then in favour of a full return to public life and the lavish taxpayer funds that entails for Andrew?

OnTheSafeSide · 02/01/2022 09:16

Yes supermoonrising I think there are a lot of people in high places, who have been named in the news as being 'pals' with Epstein, at his parties etc, who may well be starting to sweat a bit (anhydrosis notwithstanding), so yes it is not just the Royal family implicated in this - there are some v powerful, potentially nasty characters needing to keep stuff buried too.

Roussette · 02/01/2022 09:17

@chaosrabbitland

If I were you, I'd stop digging that hole any bigger.

Yes, she gave numbers of friends to Maxwell. She was procured, trafficked, young, vulnerable, she'd been sexually assaulted in the past by both a family member, she'd lived on the streets at age 14. Do you think.... given her background... she had solid judgement at a young age?

Your posts are vile. I have personal experience of this at a young age, too painful to go into on here and you don't deserve my story. You are completely clueless.

Wheresthebeach · 02/01/2022 09:17

I think rich/famous men expect to be attractive to young girls - just look at the age gap between Charles and Diana. Its not unusual.

He's obviously a complete pig. Entitled, stupid and arrogant.

His nick name at the time, was Randy Andy as I recall. There will be a strong misogynistic streak in him as well and I'm in no doubt he thought he was irresistible.

I suspect he just thought she was getting a great life style out of it all and gave it not another thought. I agree about him seeing Epstein after the conviction...that should have set off all sort of alarms. The fact that it didn't, suggests to me that he didn't see anything wrong with what was going on which tips over into guilt.

I don't understand how the secret services didn't know about Maxwell/Epstein and how they didn't step in to stop it all.

User135644 · 02/01/2022 09:17

@TheKeatingFive

I never understood the pizza express alibi in the first place. What would stop him going to the nightclub afterwards?
He had extra anchovies.
CathyorClaire · 02/01/2022 09:18

I’ve never heard a series of more obvious lies and bullshit

I said at the time he looked like a rabbit in the headlights just in the trailer.

CharityDingle · 02/01/2022 09:18

I didn't watch the interview, but saw a clip that was shown on Gogglebox. The goggleboxers immediately pointed out that being in a pizza place didn't preclude him being in a night club later. Duh.

As for the not sweating...I hope he is sweating now. Hmm

User135644 · 02/01/2022 09:19

@supermoonrising

If Andrew goes down, it’s possible the whole tower of cards might fall with him. There are a probably at least a dozen people of equal fame as Andrew who were also involved in Epstein linked shenanigans. Or maybe even dozens.
High society is, and always has been, full of degenerates and the rich and powerful have always been untouchable.
TheCreamCaker · 02/01/2022 09:20

I think he's a sweaty nonce Grin but he'll be protected by the Queen

TheKeatingFive · 02/01/2022 09:20

I think rich/famous men expect to be attractive to young girls - just look at the age gap between Charles and Diana. Its not unusual.

But that's not comparable at all. Charles and Diana were of similar social class and moved in the same circles. There was a huge social gulf between VG and PA. What on earth did he think she was doing hanging out with the Maxwells? Did he think they had a normal, reciprocal friendship? Really?

footcushion · 02/01/2022 09:21

I think he did have sex with a 17-year-old - that isn't illegal though in the UK and we can't start applying US laws in the UK - did he have sex with her in the USA - I don't know.
Did he know she was trafficked, did he understand her background - I don't think for one moment he cared - I think his arrogance is breathtaking - I think he would have assumed that of course, she wanted to have sex with him, he's the Queen's son, he's very important don't you know. I'm sure he saw what was happening and decided to turn the other way, convinced himself not to give it any thought - he liked hanging out with fun rich people who had parties and loads of sex. Poor people are there to serve him, they always have been.

gilorga · 02/01/2022 09:21

How can he be anything other than guilty?

TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 09:22

It just wasn’t at the time.

gilorga · 02/01/2022 09:23

The fact he still saw Epstein after the conviction beggars belief.

gilorga · 02/01/2022 09:23

He's so greedy too

LostForIdeas · 02/01/2022 09:24

Fgs, it was ALWAYS illegal to have sex with someone who is trafficked!!

LadyEloise1 · 02/01/2022 09:24

@RussianSpy101 "....I am genuinely shocked GM is still alive."

I'm more shocked Virginia is still alive.
There are bigger names than PA allegedly involved.

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 02/01/2022 09:24

@GarlandsinGreece

Guilty as sin. The Southern District of NY doesn’t play around. He can’t hide at Windsor forever, going for daily pony rides with his mum.
Can we swap him for Anne Sacoolas?
TatianaBis · 02/01/2022 09:25

@LostForIdeas

Fgs, it was ALWAYS illegal to have sex with someone who is trafficked!!
The sex trafficking laws came in after the event.
SnapAndFartAllDayLong · 02/01/2022 09:26

I don't see why they don't make him run on a treadmill to see if he can "sweat" I bet my right arm he can!!!

Valeriekat · 02/01/2022 09:26

I am not sure he is guilty of anything under UK law.

Roussette · 02/01/2022 09:26

Anne Sacoolas is going to appear in the UK courts. That was confirmed in December
