@Pugsnotdrugs101…. I would be exactly the same and would call them 😀 They probably expect it tbf.

@Suzzie101 …. Hopefully you find out tomorrow. 🤞

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 19:50

@Suzzie101 good luck!! Will be thinking of you!

Suzzie101 · 10/01/2022 19:54

@Pugsnotdrugs101 @tangledzebra thank you both so much, i’m so nervous as at the time of the claim being sent off i didn’t have any supporting evidence , so it was up to them to ring the people noted, so far i know they haven’t contacted the nursery and only went off GP reports, although my daughter hasn’t been seen my a doctor for any of her issues due to COVID my nerves are wrecked, the lady today said it could be wednesday so have to wait until then probably, i hope it’s landed on someone nice desk😩

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 19:57

@Suzzie101 don’t worry, I didn’t have much evidence either! Keeping everything crossed that it’s a good outcome for you. Do let us know! X

xxAmy · 10/01/2022 23:48

@Pugsnotdrugs101 do you mind me asking what supporting evidence you did send? I’m claiming for my youngest this time who is 7 and not yet diagnosed but we are looking at a autism diagnosis

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 23:52

@xxAmy my daughter isn’t diagnosed either but they think adhd and autism. All I sent was letters from cahms to show she was previously under them, supporting statement from dr, sen report from school and attainment scores from school, I think that was it! I didn’t have a lot of evidence to send really! X

Conspiracyornotr · 11/01/2022 00:12

@Pugsnotdrugs101 did you send orginal copy or can you send photo copies ? thanks x

envy4 · 11/01/2022 00:24

Has anyone received a successful Dla claim for a baby before? Mine is 6 months. Just sent the forms off. Also how long is everyone currently waiting?

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 00:28

@Conspiracyornotr photo copies as they can’t send originals back :)

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 00:28

@envy4 mine was exactly 12 weeks from when they recieved forms to the decision. But I actually requested my forms 24th sept and only recieved a decision this eve so it’s been a long wait! Good luck

Conspiracyornotr · 11/01/2022 00:55

thank @Pugsnotdrugs101 what info do i add how do they know whos claim its going to go too i havent sent any of my sons paed letters or other stuff and have seen some other people did so i would like to send mine to support what i have wrote x

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 01:09

@Conspiracyornotr put the reference number that’s on any letters they’ve sent you and/or child’s full name and dob :)

Lougle · 11/01/2022 06:42

It occurred to me, in the night, that I haven't written anything about DD1's behaviours in shops, etc. Is it worth writing in, do you think, or see what they do with the evidence they've got? It could end up as War and Peace if I write everything!

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 08:14

@Lougle it won’t hurt to write in! I wrote everything about anything 🤣

tangledzebra · 11/01/2022 08:15

@Lougle maybe call them and see what they say. I don’t know how quickly they receive and pass new info onto the claim handler, if it has been allocated.

It’s difficult to know the balance to strike as you want to include all info so that they know what day to day life is but as you say it could be war and peace, to me I would err on the side of more info is better.

tangledzebra · 11/01/2022 08:25

@envy4 I don’t know much about DLA and babies as this is my first time applying but from what I have researched from google (!) it says that it is harder to get for babies and young infants as the point of DLA is to prove that your child requires more care than another child of the same age and all babies require nearly 24 care.

Obviously I don’t know what the health need is for your child, so I guess it depends what the issue is and what supporting documentation you have sent in.

Hope you get the result you would like 🤗

Lougle · 11/01/2022 08:28

@envy4 I agree with @tangledzebra. The difficulty is that all 6 month old babies are totally dependent on their caregivers. So it's very hard to show that they need 'substantially more' care. I guess if there are lots of medications, intensive therapies, etc., they may award (e.g. cystic fibrosis). The exception is oxygen therapy/bulky equipment - you can get high rate mobility for that even before 3 years old.

Suzzie101 · 11/01/2022 09:28

@Pugsnotdrugs101 JUST BEEN ACCEPTED!!🎉 middle rate care, no mobility as she is only 3.5. what do i have to do now anyone know?

xxAmy · 11/01/2022 09:55

@Suzzie101 made up for you, congratulations 🎉 xx

Urthie · 11/01/2022 10:27

Congratulations Suzie!

I don't think you have to do anything now, but I think you can also apply for Carer's allowance.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 10:43

@Suzzie101 that’s amazing well done!!

Suzzie101 · 11/01/2022 10:57
