Any of you sleep on wet sheets?

Because my DH thought it would be "fine" to remove a wet sheet from the dryer that had been on for ten minutes and put it on our bed instead of grabbing a dry one from the cupboard. Because apparently, the duvet would have dried it. And our body heatConfused

He seems really annoyed and like I'm stupid not to understand the physics behind body heat and a duvet wicking away moisture, but he's overlooking the fact that this is bollocks and nobody wants to sleep on wet sheets!! I said there was no way that was going on our bed and he sighed the sigh of a long misunderstood man and traipsed downstairs actually dragging the sheet behind him, head down, to return it to the dryer.

AIBU?? Would you like to sleep on a wet sheet instead of a dry one?

He’s an idiot. Even in a heatwave that would quickly become a horrible idea.

mooloop · 18/12/2021 22:03

Urgh surely that would stink of damp as it slowly dried, let alone being uncomfortable?!

Linguini · 18/12/2021 22:04

Why are you even posting this?

Choice between dry clean sheet or wet sheet is rather obvious.

Is there anything else troubling you in this relationship.......?

cheeseislife8 · 18/12/2021 22:04

He is DEFINITELY bu. That's grim

Icecreaminwinter · 18/12/2021 22:05

Eh? Who would think that?!

pastabest · 18/12/2021 22:05

I have done this in a heatwave.

Middle of December. Nope. Have you got a sleeping bag Grin

Don't you dare change them.

Itsalmostanaccessory · 18/12/2021 22:06

It would have wet your mattress as well. And yous get a chill.
Rule one of camping; keep your sleeping bag dry. You cannot get warm/comfortable on wet bedding. It wouldnt be able to evaporate away with you both on it and a duvet on top. So your duvet would be damp, your mattress damp and you would be uncomfortable.

The man is an idiot. Suggest he ask his big man friends if they would put a wet sheet on the bed and climb in and go to sleep, since he thinks this is totally normal man behaviour.

Burnt0utMum · 18/12/2021 22:08

Can't imagine getting any sleep on a wet sheet, must be so uncomfortable.

LadyCluck · 18/12/2021 22:08

YANBU. What a muppet. Xmas Grin

CheshireCats · 18/12/2021 22:09

Ewww! Why would he think this was ok?? When there's dry ones in the cupboard anyway... Utterly minging. He is grim.

BirdyBirdyTweetTweet · 18/12/2021 22:09

Well he's just going to have to do it again but properly this time - take the wet one off, put it back in the dryer and go get a dry one.
Hmm

RozHuntleysStump · 18/12/2021 22:09

He’s a twit.

Sarahlou63 · 18/12/2021 22:12

Only in the summer when it's 30c...

KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 18/12/2021 22:14

Exh used to do this. But then he also puts damp clothes on straight front the washer and tried to do this with the DC too. Idiot.

Squeezita · 18/12/2021 22:14

He’s actually trying to gaslight you that his laziness is ingenuity 😂

Bum head

elvis4nuts · 18/12/2021 22:15

Sounds like something my husband would do tbh. They really are utterly useless sometimes.

LetterBug · 18/12/2021 22:16

Did he organise the kids drawers aswell? Bleeding men.

Ubiquery · 18/12/2021 22:16

It’s going to stink. We had this at a B&B once and although the bedding was dry the smell made me boak.

Steakpies · 18/12/2021 22:20

It's making me itchy just thinking about it.

wtfisthatspiderdoing · 18/12/2021 22:21

I can't even comprehend why your DH thought this was ok?!!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/12/2021 22:21

I am going to show this thread to my now adult DC who might now understand that I wasn't being an ogre when I made them do their own laundry.

LostThePot · 18/12/2021 22:21

Wtf Grin

Chocolatewheatos · 18/12/2021 22:23

Fuck no. I'd freeze!

thnack · 18/12/2021 22:23

He took the wet sheet back to the dryer and came back with a dry one, helped me put it on the bed with many a dramatic sigh and now he's sulking because I "made him feel stupid."
Because I said it was ridiculous to sleep on wet sheets when we have dry ones and it would be horribly uncomfortable. I only think this though because I don't understand the science behind it. Apparently, we'd actually be far warmer. Just damp.

It sounds fucking dire and I prefer dry and warm.

Ask him why we bother drying clothes at all?
Body heat during the day would dry the jeans?
Ffs.
